Squad announced at 3pm tomorrow <cheers>

Two ex Charlton players very much in with a shout - Nick Pope and Jonjo Shelvey.

I love a World Cup. Not just for the Panini sticker albums, the Clinton Morrison punditry, and the absence of the Jocks <cheers>

I love the atavistic sense of English nationalism that a World Cup inspires. The Union Jacks draped out of windows. The re-runs of 1966. The fact that no Sweaty Sock is safe south of Hadrian’s Wall.

Anyone think England will do well under Southgate <whistle>

My prediction - out in the last 16.

We won't get out of the group.
Be lucky to still be in it after the first two games.

Rabbit :emoticon-0171-star::emoticon-0171-star: Headlights.

Still, World Cups are always fun - even ones hosted by dictators.
Qatar 2022 will be a scream from start to finish... :bandit::bandit::bandit::bandit:

Kane, Sterling, Vardy, Alli and Rashford between them could not even score one goal against Iceland.
(we needed a Rooney penalty for that).

Two games and out, just like in Brazil :emoticon-0157-sun: :emoticon-0103-cool:

Except the Union Flag is the British flag, not the English flag. We will get out the group & then gloriously fail, we love brave losers

England and Charlton are very similar- high expectations followed by bitter disappointment, but you always believe !

I believe that England will qualify second from Group then get knocked out by Columbia in the next round.... 'Yes Man' Southgate will then be given an eight year contract by the FA because he is cheap.

Southgate is a poor mans Robinson..... NO plan B! and plan A is sh1te.

Southgate is only in there because he kisses arse and is cheap. No Premier League club would offer him a job, and not many in the Championship would either.

I am saving Southgate’s famous quote about Sven Goran Eriksson for later in the tournament <whistle>

I like Southgate. Had the balls to bomb out Joe,I have spilled the ball again,Hart. Has given the Yoof a chance. The problem with England is not the Manager it is the lack of World class players. Put any Manager in the World in charge of England and we still wouldn't progress far in the World Cup. Look at our choices in midfield. Loftus - Cheek, Henderson, Dier, etc. We only have Kane that the top countries would want.

I would have liked to have seen Shelvey in the squad.
He can pick out a pass like few others - when he is not picking up cards from the ref.

@Whats up Doc

Any thoughts on World Cup betting ?

I was thinking of £20 on Belgium to win it at 12/1.

There is not much value in Germany, Brazil or Spain.

I'm also tempted on the 500/1 Scotland to qualify for Qatar 2022
