there's also a load of stuff from the British Egyptian Society which he said about his past, which didn't tie up with what he now claims - that's gone

Everytime we hear the 'I came to this country with nowt' story it varies slightly.

The latest tweak is "I came with $600,000 but they were all duds".

This seems both illegal and far fetched.

How many notes can you get in a suitcase?

How did he obtain the dollars on Egypt? From which reputable source?

quite a lot of money for a young student who had a job as auditor for the Egyptian Government - must have saved it from his papyrus round

I'm sure the version I read a few years ago was only 20k , obviously you can't believe much of what he says
