I'm old enough to remember Celtin winning the European Cup in 1967 and United in 1968 ... just a kid but I cheered both on ...
You might aswell say you favour the British players in your team more than the foreign ones.
What's Nationality got to do with it? Real Madrid are on a different Universe compared to Lesta, it's not as though there is a rivalry. Youre always anti Pool every weekend but because they are playing the Spanish, you support them?

...I'm only really anti whoever we are playing every weekend (or might otherwise affect us In terms of league position).. so right now I'm not really bothered who beats who as we are likely to finish more or less where we are ...
But I'm still British and throughout my life have had a lot of enjoyable interaction with the fans of other British clubs ... so I can't imagine favouring a foreign club over a British one .... you see it different ... fair enough ... but I suspect I am in the majority ... particularly if you look beyond the Premier League

Also, if you go on Ben’s website and FB page and look at some of the comments made by knuckle dragging expats, there is a disgraceful demonstration of racial bigotry!

You don't 'support' them because you don't pay anything ... but you almost certainly favour one team when you watch any sort of match ...whatever the sport ... when I watch athletics I cheer on the home nations athlete . I can still acknowledge the brilliance of foreign athletes .... but I'll want the Brit to win ... not hope they lose because they come from a particular city ..
