We spent a couple of weeks in and around Marrakesh, and I’d love to go back and see some more of the country. Marrakesh is bonkers and **** driving around there lol, they’re mad!

I found it a real paradox tbh. Street food for pennies and then you could walk down some the road and behind some unassuming door, there could be a fine dining restaurant.

 

Some of the most luxurious hotels in the world can be found in Marrakech. Not the modern glass front and polished stainless steel everywhere types, but old palaces and opulent houses, with beautiful courtyards full of orange and lemon trees. And then a few yards away like you say, the bustle of the Souk with lovely street food.

And yes driving in Morocco is nuts. I remember the fist time I drove from Marrakech to Essaouira, and it's a single lane highway with everything from cars, trucks, bikes, tractors, people pushing carts etc on it. Was being tailgated by this **** off truck and then a Donkey just wandered out right in front of me !

Brits abroad are a ****ing nightmare, generally.


Times I've pretended to be French/Spanish/Italian, to avoid being tarnished with the utter ****ishness of my fellow countrymen and women.

 

Even in the Holy City of Amsterdam...the whole place was happy and high and all that could be heard was some English blokes running down the streets, shouting and carrying blow up contraptions.

Funnily enough, the first time I went to the Dam, I recall breezing along by the canals about 2.00 am trying to find the place we were staying at. Seeing a bunch of rowdy lads making a lot of noise up ahead, I said to my mate, "oh, they have drunken yobs in Amsterdam too then", but as we got nearer we heard the chants of "Enger-lund, Enger-lund...Great Britain! etc"

 

Have booked a week's walking in the Scottish Highlands in July. Just looking forward to having a week off work and getting properly away from email and all the other old ****e that can take your life over without you even noticing it.

 

If we're generalising then thank **** you're not German or Russian either.

Been places where their arrogance and rudeness were indescribable!

 

I think it depends where you go. The obvious city breaks then yeah some British are a pain. I have never done the lads holidays so can't comment but have been to France a few times and most of the British were top drawer.

 

I've been on several lads holidays and not one bloke on any of them acted like a right cock! Guess its down to upbringing.

 

The Russians are just all round ****s. Horrible ****ing people..

 

The Dutch are the people the English could be if we didn't have so many prejudices, inhibitions and assorted hang-ups.

Bet they're not as bad as French Canadians !

 

Montreal is a bit weird. It looks like any other North American city so it's tricky to remember to speak French....
Toronto is really nice.
