PLEASE KEEP MATCH DAY THREADS ON TOPIC
Good Morning / Evening
We are nearly there!!!
It's the penultimate game of the season, and we're away at Carrow Road on Saturday!
After 44 games, only a +2 goal difference keeps Leeds on a higher pirch
Surely Heckingbottom will stick to the same XI that coughed and spluttered their way past clueless Barnsley last week.
According to Jamie Clapham, Pennington had a good game at right back.
O'Connor and Jansson looked comfortable at centre back (apart from Paudie's OG).
Pearce has a good chance of making the left back slot his own if he can continue his good form.
Have we seen enough of De Bock to make a judgement call on the Dutchman?
Pearce or De Bock?
Phillips and Viera will be under pressure from a fit again Forshaw. How if either should give way?
Have we seen the last of Anita, Lonergan, Lasogga, Sacko, O'Kane, Ekuban, Weidweld, Berardi, Dallas or Cibicki?
Which of the above should get a reprieve?
It would be interesting to compare the players that started on the opening game of the season, and compare!
I don't think we've seen enough of De Bock yet, needs to be given more time to settle, and experience the Championship.
Pearce looks to be a good up and coming left back, and I think he should retain his place till last game of season, however, experience is the talking point.
Does Pearce have the necessary experience, and know how to be able to take on the better players in Championship. When you saw the controversy video regarding Saiz, you'll see, and I think it was Pearce, you'll see him turn away from the attacking player, meaning, he turned and spun round to his left, and not his right. This gave the attacking player ample time to move forward and get his shot off, while Pearce, in doing his left turn spin put himself in a blind spot in no mans land so to speak, which allowed the attacking player to move forward and shoot.
Pearce would do himself a big favour by watching videos / playback of Berardi in the left back position, and watch how Berardi acts and reacts when closely watching an attacking winger.
I personally think Berardi should stay, I don't understand, or can see no reason why some are putting him on "to go list". He's a very good and experienced defender, he can play both left and right back, and wingers / overlappers have a hard job getting around or past him.
Whether Pennington plays well or not is irrelevant now, Evertons manager is taking him back to Everton, and has said he has plans for Pennington.
Next season we'll have Antonsson (who should stay) Klich (who needs to be given his chances) and little Ideguchi; if Ideguchi is as good as they say, then he's going to be a welcome sight playing alongside Forshaw. With Klich and Ideguchi fighting for a place, it should strengthen our CM.
Players who should leave Anita, Lonergan, Lasogga, Sacko, Phillips, O'Kane, Ekuban, Weidweld, Grot, Dallas.
I'm tempted to put Vieira on list cos Klich and Ideguchi will be back next season.
Cibicki I took off list cos he also deserves his chances. Dallas is a hard one, he'd be a great sub off bench, or a great fill in for anyone injured, plus, he don't mind fighting for his place.
