Think they've been a bit lenient on Pastor.

What is the point in a reprimand if they don't clamp down on drivers who're repeatedly given them? This has been getting on my nerves for a while now.

If we don't come down hard on these clowns, we'll be up to our balls in jugglers!

looking at this I still have no idea why lewis was given a reprimand? I dunno, maybe they have more angles or telemetry or something.

he cut across so aggressively he ended up on the grass.q2 was over so why was he driving like that?
hamiltons twitch before that imo was because he didnt expect maldonado to be there as he was turning to the right, and then when he saw maldonado it spooked him,so he had to quickly correct himself.
but regardless, maldonado didnt have to cut across lewis like that.

Well they both got charged for the same thing (causing a collision according to rule 16.1) and they got different penalties which is stupid. I think the reason Hamilton was given a reprimand was because he moved to the right twice after La Source. If I was the steward I would of given Maldonado a 10 place penalty.

EDIT: They also did not have the onboard for Maldonado.

Yeah, at the end of the day Maldonado had more room to avoid a collision. Hamilton moved to the right for whatever reason but it didnt cause any contact. Anyway Maldonado got a grid place penalty and Hamilton gets to keep his grid place.

I do actually agree with this. If Lewis has done wrong again, the punishment should be more severe than usual because of his poor record this season.

But in the collision for which he has been reprimanded, he had the temerity to stay on one side of the track, follow it around, and to be there while some petulant also-ran decided to smash into him in a non-racing situation. He has done nothing wrong.

If someone stabs me and leaves the knife there, should I get a police caution for possession of a knife?

Have they said if it was human error or component failure yet?

There is going to be a full investigation into it according to Ross.
For anyone though stuff like this should not happen, the wheel nearly swiped across his head, scary moments.
Reminded me of Buemi in China I think .. when he lost his wheels.

Hamilton's infringement came about three seconds before the start of that video when he swerved out, presumably trying to intimidate Maldonado, stupid in the circumstances. Maldonado was dangerous deliberately causing contact though, I'd say a DSQ would've been right, but they only gave Buemi for a deliberate chop on Heidfeld in Germany, so at least they're consistant.

Yeah I remember that bit, seems correct...

Exactly that video shows absolutely nothing.

Didn't Alguersuari deliberately chop Chandhok in Barcelona last year? I think he only got a drive through for that.

The telling comments about this situation came from Hamilton in the press conference, he said I saw Maldanado coming really fast after the red lights were shown.

Translate

I slowed down to let Maldonado catch up so I could teach him a lesson and put him in his place.

Reason I believe this.

Why else would Hamilton be concentrating on his mirrors looking for Maldanado after the red lights, after all they were no longer racing.

Reason for accident.

Maldanado said **** you pal, and misjudged his retort to Hamilton's aggressive posturing.

Conclusion.

There never would have been any contact if Hamilton hadn't have provoked Maldanado.

Hence the two different penalties.
