If i was, then i would want him to get a penalty, i have said that none of them deserve one, or they both deserve the same. But I wouldnt give one out.

In my opinion, the crash was caused by Maldonado. His move across Hamiltion is what essentially caused the collision. He didn't have to make that move. Maybe he just intended on carving him up in a display of his displeasure and miss timed it. I don't believe he intended to collide.

If the positions were swapped, Hamiltion would have received no sympathy and would have likely had a bigger book thrown at him and the reaction from his detractors would have been filling pages for days.

I accept that being a fan of British drivers I am bound to have tinted specs as to the severity of punishment that Hamilton and or Maldonardo should receive. But can someone tell me exactly what Hamilton is supposed to have done wrong today?

I half hope that Lewis comes out tomorrow and publicly says that the stewards are a complete ****ing disgrace. I don't condone that sort of behavior, but even then he would still have the moral high ground over the petulant thug who bought his way into an F1 seat he is nowhere near good enough for. Heck, at least the likes of Senna, Schumacher and Alonso stood to directly gain from their antics in years gone by.

Nope, he got penalty's in Monaco and his race was over in Canada so the stewards took no further action.

ye, i think maldonado, since punished, means he did something wrong, and if they deem he did something wrong, it has to be a race ban as u don't "accidentally" turn ur car into another.

You've not bothered to read the rest of the replies on this thread then, well I'm not going over them for you, and the stewards have a lot more information than we do.

Both have the same fact and offence but different penalties.
Surely either the fact/offence has to be different or they have the same penalty?

14:48 by my reckoning would refer to the second collision.

So Hamilton is being penalised for possibly, or possibly not, steering slightly to the right when he is on the far left of the track going into a right hander?

well now, are they referring to the same incident, or are they saying Hamiltons was during his timed lap (which means it should probably be scrubbed from the timesheets) and only Maldonado's was for the bit of 'afters'. Either way as Mansell was involved with it he probably decided that it happened because they simply weren't as skillful as he was back in the day, otherwise they would've avoided each other easily, and decided to give punishments just for that.

They have both been penalised for causing a collision with the other car and both have the same offense and yet they recieve different punishments. Seems a bit odd.

Think they've been a bit lenient on Pastor.

What is the point in a reprimand if they don't clamp down on drivers who're repeatedly given them? This has been getting on my nerves for a while now.
