Should Sock Accounts be Allowed?

Just FYI, I voted NO.

Sock accounts can be funny, I’ve known about the occasional sock account in the past, but they can also be used for vindictive and malicious purposes by unscrupulous individuals.

Recently I was banned from a football forum and the moderator who banned me announced that the ban would be extended by one day for each sock account that was registered.

Almost immediately numerous sock accounts appeared. It was obvious who had started them as some included far too many commas and others were written in pidgin English.

All I know is that their posting styles are very distinct and they both have previous for multiple account activity.

They know who they are, so do I and, most importantly, so does the moderator.
