Chris Woods - 63 games for QPR and 107 games for Sheffield Wednesday Gary Bannister - 118 games for Sheffield Wednesday and 55 goals, 136 games for QPR and 56 goals. Match Preview Both clubs go into Tuesday night's game on the back of disappointing weekends, with Sheff Wed having respectably lost 1-0 to third place Fulham, whereas we were well beaten by 18th place Hull. Sheffield Wednesday now lie one place below us, in 16th, and three points behind us. A win for them at Loftus Road and there will be a realistic worry that we could be sucked down the table as the season reaches it's climax. A win, and I think there would be a comfortable buffer between us and the teams below, and we can just enjoy the rest of the season without any major concerns. Wheeler and Hall remain our only long term injuries. A lot of us were baffled when Eze was played as our only striker on Saturday against Hull. The return of Sylla and/or Washington would certainly aid us in a bid to get the points we need to relax for the rest of the season. Interestingly looking at the top scorers, their top scorer is Hooper on 11 goals, who has not only scored 2 more than Matt Smith, but also has a 'shots on target' percentage of 61% (from 36 shots) compared to Smiths 48% (from 81 shots). Sylla has 4 goals, with 50% of his 22 shots being on target, and Washington has 6 goals with 52% of his 46 shots on target. Not sure what we can really take from those stats, but it is interesting to see how consistent the strikers are being. As a side note, our only player with 100% of his shots on target is Darnell Furlong, all three of them have been on target. This will be the last mid-week game of the season so I hope those going will enjoy the atmosphere under the lights and we get the win. COME ON YOUR R'sss!
Great memories. I'm in that video! Loved the celebratory car hooting down the motorway with fellow Rs.
Hopefully I should be going as well..... Maybe to see a performance worthy of one of our former legends which was sadly missing on Saturday.
I was at that game in 1973 when we beat them 8-2. Peter Springett was in goal for them and if memory serves me right he walked off in disgust after the 8th goal and an outfield player had to go in goal for the last few minutes...........
Simon Stainrodney being inducted tonight in Forever R's...... please log in to view this image Great player who's up there with Rod, Stan, Wegerly, Tony Currie as our maverick Number 10's.......
Now unless OUR MISSUS is a twin there may be consequences and repercussions sir, and if she isn’t a twin, consider yourself slapped across the cheek with my gauntlet and challenged to a duel with saveloy’s outside a chippy of your choice at dawn Sir !!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to tonight. The last night game of the season. Hopefully we can do a number on the Wednesday which will make my 'phone call to my SWFC fan supplier all the funnier tomorrow. 3-1 Rs.
I’ve heard of Tobermory if that’s any help........................... Now where’s me box of duelling saveloys gone ?
