What harm do they really do?

The site has a history of sock accounts and some are funny (Village Bike)

Other come and go and it's a bit of fun so should we resolve the issue by freeing the socks?

The Village Bike sock account was rightly banned for the harm it did to me and my family.

It's just a pity that the real perpetrators (Pixie and Skiddy) have escaped punishment.

As for sock accounts in general, there have been some truly great ones - 667 and A87 probably being the best - but there have been some dreadful ones.

I don't think socks should be permitted to mock or parody genuine posters, and I think certain posters (such as Skiddy and Commie) should be barred from holding any. Otherwise, a judicious sock, handled by experts such as myself and Stan, can be a good thing, enhancing the banter on this board and making life that little bit better for all of us.

You can assume that if you like. <ok>

As far as I can see, no posts on this thread have been altered.
Only assuming that cause very few have the capability. If you say it wasn't you then fine. @brb i guess it was you then? Would like to understand why part of my post was deleted.

... not you calling for other posters to be banned (again) ... surely <doh>

Yes you should. Mods shouldn't edit posts, without a good reason.

Why have we got mods on an unmoderated board anyway ffs?

Very good question, especially one who’s disliked by 99% of the posters here.

Have a word with the Fuhrer. No, wait a minute, that didn’t work too well at time!...
