I thought you were my message board buddies.
I can now see you as nasty people making fun of me. Lardiman excepted, he's always courteous and respectful.
Lardi is just a better liar than the rest of us

And God. "God loves a drunk", says Richard Thomson, one of my favourite songwriters.
Friends again.Give me a boozer who is also a genuine fan and goes to games over a boozer who has latched on to Charlton & sits behind a keyboard any day.
I rarely went to a match sober in my single days. Some of the football was so dire I pitied the fans who were sober. One of the stars of the team then was Les Berry, who is now up for induction into the Hall of Fame, which made me chuckle.Give me a boozer who is also a genuine fan and goes to games over a boozer who has latched on to Charlton & sits behind a keyboard any day.

.... to be fair, England were not very good then.I remember the match programme just before Les broke into the team and was playing for the reserves, he was described as a future England International.... to be fair, England were not very good then.
A cult figure, a bit like Carl Leaburn. I remember his testimonial, where every massive hoof up the park was greeted by delirious cheering.Neither was Les.

Les and Lawrie Madden![]()
I played in a charity football match against an undertakers eleven back in the day. Lawrie Madden was the referee and Jimmy Saville's brother did the commentary. Lawrie had to have a word with me after a robust tackle on one of the undertakers. You could say I nearly buried him.

Bob BolderIs it @ the Massive Club that Lawrie Madden is an absolute legend?
And Peter Shaw. No need for a midfield.Les and Lawrie Madden![]()
That was weird. After being rejected by us and Millwall for being garbage he became an integral part of the Massives first team in the first division. Is it @ the Massive Club that Lawrie Madden is an absolute legend?
Played for Wolves as well. That was weird. After being rejected by us and Millwall for being garbage he became an integral part of the Massives first team in the first division.
He still goes to most home games. And Peter Shaw. No need for a midfield.
