    3.15 Kempton - SMART CALL-5/2

2 horse race in my eyes she is now taking a massive drop down in grade rated 110 next Horse is rated 101 running off level weights her last race was in the Hong Kong vase and ran in multiple grade one and grade twos this is ****ing easy compared to them , she wouldn’t have to run a Pb to win this. Is the one to beat and wouldn’t be surprised if she went off even money

Morning, team. Somewhat, poignant day today as it is, and I quote, ‘highly likely’ to be First Mohican’s last run (5.00 Kempton). He’s been a forum fave for years but hasn’t shown much since returning back in October. We can rest assured re his future though, troops, as that good egg Mr Ponsonby is sure to find him a good home.

Meanwhile, my regular readers are well, and I do mean well, aware of how eager I am to see Broadway Dreams (he’s pictured left) make his debut in a handicap hurdle (off 100). He runs today but not in that type of heat. Goes to Wolverhampton (7.45) for a 12 furlong handicap and although I’m a million times less excited than had he been going over timber think current quotes of 16/1 greatly underestimate him. His run, incidentally, last time was better than it appears in the formbook as just as he was coming through to make his challenge the poor old boy was thrashed, and I do mean thrashed, on the nose by an opponents whip – Ouch, with a capital ‘O’, say I. Recommendation a small each-way wager and continue to check those handicap hurdle entries out!

    Good luck crew.

Let it roll I would say Dayo!!It will be more interesting to watch and you will knock yourself if you cash out and he wins.Reed is playing superbly as well and looks to have a great chance so I would sit it out but then again im not really a golf buff!!!!!

If I'm reading this right, he's in from 65/1 to around 3/1.

If your worried about the bet and want to cover yourself, getting on the exchange and laying some of that off is probably your best option, if you're in a position to do so.

I'd be tempted to lay £100 at 3.7. If he wins you get your £660 return reduced to £290 but still a nice £280 profit (almost double you cash out offer), if he doesn't win you lose the original tenner but still have £90 profit from the lay bet.

Was wondering what has happened to you, thought you'd gone skint following PriceWise <laugh>

Interesting dilema, the options I would consider :-

Lay $150 on Reed at current odds of 3.7 if he won you would loose $405 on this bet , but Win $650 on original bet so overall profit of $245
if he lost you would win $142.5 ($150 - 5% betfair Tax) on your lay bet and lose $10 on your original bet overall profit of 132.50.
To do this you would need $405 in your account.

He is in strong position at the mo but things can change quickly at Augusta , so wait an see how he gets on over the opening holes today, if he gets another 1 or 2 shots ahead I imagine he will trade at odd's on so you could lay him then? Obviously if things go pear shaped his odds will drift,

If your not that fussed about the tenner and want some excitement over the next 36 holes put on your bicycle clips and "Let it ride" <cheers>

    Good Luck
