    Match facts
    • Hull are unbeaten in their last nine home league matches against QPR (W3 D6) since a 2-1 defeat in February 1970 at Boothferry Park.
    • The only previous season in which QPR have completed a league double over the Tigers coincided with their last victory at Hull (1969-70).
    • Matt Smith has been directly involved in 18 league goals this season (9 goals, 9 assists) - his joint-best campaign in the Football League alongside 2013-14 at Leeds (12 goals, 6 assists).
    • Hull have conceded more goals from the penalty spot this season than any other Championship team (7), although opponents QPR have netted just one themselves, missing a penalty versus Reading in their last away game.
    • The Tigers have lost just one of their last 10 home league games, winning three and drawing six.
    • The R's have won the most points from losing positions in the Championship this season (15). In contrast, Hull have dropped the joint-most points from winning positions this term (24).

I think Chazz has got the team right except I don't think Kingsley will start and Clark will start instead.

I'd imagine 4/5 points from next 3 should be enough to seal the deal.

Can be tricky playing teams with 'nowt' to play for, plus they often seem to do alright here.

Naturally, hope Chazz is correct and all things being equal, we should win, but I can see a score draw

Hopefully we’ll get on the back of one of their players so much that he cries (almost squeals in fact) ...as is tradition

We've got 6 games to go so, on the basis that you don't get eaten by the hungry bear unless you're the slowest runner, we are 7 points above Barnsley (who have a game in hand), and 10 points above Sunderland and Burton. If we assume that they will all win 3 of their last games - unlikely but one might go on a run even at this late stage - the bottom two will still not catch us so they're down.

We also have to consider Reading, Bolton and Birmingham. If, as above, they all better our results it is still us or Barnsley - if not then one of them will replace us at the trap door. Logic suggests Barnsley may well not better our results but let's be pessimistic for now. I can see Barnsley getting 3 points from Brentford and Bolton, maybe another 2 from draws which means City, sorry Ehab, only have to get 2 more points from their last 6 games.

All hypothesis of course but I now think we'll stay up whereas I haven't felt that for ages. Hopefully this will make us more attractive to potential buyers.

Handy stats that sum up our season. The penalties thing feels so annoying as it's so avoidable. The dropped points I mentioned before, but I didn't know the figure was as high as that. With those 24 points, we'd be fifth, probably fourth given a much better goal difference.

I agree Clark will keep his place as he won't risk Kingsley with another game so soon after playing at Wolves.

I can see him coming on for Wilson after 60-70 minutes if we are in the lead to protect the left side. Also, he might use him in away games, as he did at Wolves in front of Clark.

QPR are in good form at the moment, so we have to take it to them. If we allow them to get on the front foot, we could be in a for a difficult afternoon. If we start well, then I think we will get the win by the odd goal, 2-1 or the like.

Slutsky was totally out of his depth, he didn't even bring an assistant. The article seems to have plenty of suppositions, such as assuming that he thought more money would be spent. He brought in these Chelsea loans and Kingsley and the defence was a mess. If we keep up we can thank Adkins for cleaning up some of the mess. To think we'll get a star manager in with the Allams in charge is surely wishful thinking. And we don't know the full story of Dawson, it's surely likely that he was given the go ahead to look elsewhere in the transfer window, that was retracted and he came back. That's the only thing that would make sense. Meyler hasn't been at his best this season, I'd concentrate more on whether we keep others such as Bowen, Larsson.
