Maybe they want it to stand out from the other 89 minutes? I do agree though. It looks like it's done because they're afraid that some people don't have enough about them to show respect, even for just one minute.
There are plenty of examples of observing a minutes silence at football grounds impeccably, it just needs some clear and concise coordinating over the PA system.
Not quite sure why we need a minute's silence on Saturday. Black armbands for DQPR should suffice. Far too many weepfests generated by snowflakes and soap opera watchers which are slowly devaluing the whole process.
Nobody had a good word for him a month ago. His achievements are what they are, but they have no connection to Hull City or this area, so this 'recognition' is over the top. Have we had the Jimmy McGill commemoration yet?
This argument over applause/silence gets rehashed all the time, the last time was only earlier this year. https://www.not606.com/threads/in-memoriam.356887/ I do like this point, why is it that some people just won't accept other people's way of doing things?
Perhaps more trivially, I listen to talksport quite a bit and Ray was often on there. He came across as a thoroughly decent knowledgeable bloke. So for a minute on Saturday I will think of him and his family. It's called empathy.
Only one, I should have put more bait on the hook. Anyway the PA system is on the to do list a few places behind the mirrors for the ladies. But a valid point all the same, if the system is so poor it can't be heard it needs to be sorted.
He's an ex-QPR player and England player, a very popular one, it's absolutely right that we're doing this.
I always pressed Mooney to announce the minute's silence on the concourses, but they still don't do it, people aren't gong to keep quiet on the concourses if they don't know there's anything going on outside.
This week. Too many commemorations these days. The criteria for these need to be looked at. I was surprised we didn't have one for Cyrille Regis.
As I said on an earlier thread when you get loads of people together you always get someone thinking it's a great chance for some kind of statement, even if people are just there for entertainment purposes.
The ladies? You mean there aren't gender neutral toilets? That should be at the top of the agenda for any future meetings.
Hull City captain Jimmy McGill died a couple of years back and we didn't observe a minutes **** all for him.
