Can I just point out that we don't actually NEED another striker..? We're hip deep in the bloody things.

don't agree. Lambo, Connolly, Barney. Guly backing up as attacking midfielder who can play there, but not main position. Connolly won't last season, Barney currently injured. We need one more. De Ridder may or may not be able to cover, but we only have 3 actual strikers... one injured, one likely top be.

Lambert and Connally on fire atm, great combination. One gets injured we've got Guly to slot in who is good back up. Other than him I'm not seeing it. Barnard??? imo won't be good enough if we're serious about getting out of this league and thats if he's not banged up. We need another striker!! I know it and NA certainly knows it.

Connolly's record over the last 4 seasons suggests he will pick up injuries. He is absolute quality when fit and playing as he is now. I think it would be negligent to bank on him playing 46 games for the first time in years. I hope I'm wrong, but look at his record. If he breaks down after 12 games and we have no-one after Barney, or have to play "fill-in" players then we would have made a mistake.

Scoring goals is the most important thing in this league and we currently look good. 1 injury and 1 suspension and our depth has gone.

Anyone heard how much Baldock went for? Personally even the discussed £2m seems a bit much for a league 1 player. Cork £750k, Lambert £1m, Fonte £1m. Seems like we got Cork for the bargain of the century, but other than that it seems that you have to pay a lot for the 'potential' of young players now.

Bit extreme Lambden, can't read any histrionics in the last 3 or 4 posts, just some sensible debate.

Agreed, but Connolly is NOT injury prone. He is not Jonathan Woodgate. He has just been unlucky with injuries in the last few seasons, and has been coming back from them too fast and getting others in the process. He's a clean slate now, IMO.

Waghorn would be a great addition. No need for hysterics, just saying we need another striker which is why NA and NC are scouring market. No reason to think they won't get it right!!!

I hope you are correct, but "unlucky"? Its has been several seasons since he completed a whole one and without panicing, I am only suggesting we should have one more in for cover or to push for a place. If Connolly had played 35-40 games last season I would say great, bring it on this year. I hope he is "lucky" this year with injuries then becasue a fit David Connolly is too good for this league.

Prudence would say get another one.

Agreed Connally looks rejuvinated and playing out of his skin and to be honest if it wasn't for his contribution at the end of last season we'd still be in league 1. But we will get injuries in a long hard season, we need another striker and an established CB, not back up.
