Nah...World Cup will only intensify the speculation. Whenever one player has a decent game, he'll be linked to the top 5/6 English clubs, Barca, Madrid, PSG and Munich....

Just watch the Isco rumours run up after last nights game <ok>

Philippe Coutinho not happy with ‘Salah, Mane, Mane’ song from Liverpool fans
Philippe Coutinho does not appear to be happy with the latest song from Liverpool fans which references his sale to Barcelona. The Brazil international left Anfield in the January transfer window to join Barcelona in a £142 million deal. But Jurgen Klopp’s side are coping after the midfielder’s departure having reached the Champions League quarter-finals and tightened their grip on a top-four place in the Premier League. Liverpool fans, meanwhile, have created a song to the tune of The Archies’ 1969 hit ‘Sugar, Sugar’ which hails their attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. The lyrics to the song are: ‘Salah, oh Mane Mane, Roberto Firmino and we sold Coutinho.’ After Brazil’s 1-0 win over Germany on Tuesday evening, Coutinho was asked what he thought of the song, but he looked less than impressed with the efforts from Liverpool’s fans.

    I doubt he's bothered, tbh.
He always looks like he can smell something nasty anyway.

Roma explain why Mohamed Salah was sold to Liverpool last summer

Roma sports director Monchi has explained why the club offloaded Mohamed Salah to Liverpool last summer.

The Egyptian international moved to Anfield for a fee thought to be around £36m, and has gone on to score 36 goals in all competitions so far this season.

Due to the 25-year-old's form, questions have been raised about why Roma let the attacker leave, particularly for what is deemed a relatively low figure in the current market.

Monchi has now revealed that the club felt pressure to sell due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, and he also suggested that Neymar's world-record £200m switch to Paris Saint-Germain changed the face of the market.

"On Salah there are two important things to understand," Monchi said at Rome's Foreign Press Association. "First, Salah was sold before the Neymar effect revolutionised the market. Second, we had a necessity to sell Salah before June 30.
Anyone who understands a bit of this business knows that that's like having a sword pointed at your neck. So taking into account these two conditions, I think we made a sale that was fairly big."

Salah is currently the Premier League's leading scorer with 28 goals.

I don't understand why they keep making the same two points. It's as if they feel so hard done by with the transfer fee (which they are), that they feel the need to justify their negotiations and the final fee they got.

Given his performances for them, the stats (which were good but not spectacular) and the market at the time - they received a fair fee. Unfortunately for them they had a gun pointed at their head and we were their only way out - and we knew it.

If we got Werner, it'd mean that Firminho is off to Munich imo. I'd prefer to keep Firminho <ok>

Putting aside who we buy this summer, it's just as important to focus on who we keep imo. For as long as I can remember, we've been a team in transition....we nearly got there and had to sell Suarez at the same time that Gerrard was retiring and we had to begin again, wasting a windfall on the likes of Carroll and Markovic et al.

I have the feeling that we are approaching that 'nearly there' point again. 2 or 3 top signings (not necessarily top dollar but the right players) and we will be a major step closer to City. But lose our top players like Firminho or Salah or even Klopp and we will remain in the 'transistion phase' for a few more years.

So this summer will probably define our next 3 seasons - its that critical imo.

yeah you need to keep your players. The one thing about this side of yours is that the whole first team is relatively young and all your key players are sub 27 i think which means they should be at the top of their games (if they keep the same form) for the next few years

We wasted money on Carroll at the same time as buying Suarez ;)

Bar Can, I don't see any of our main players this summer. Obviously, we will look to shift some "lesser" players on but I think this summer will be all about recruitment.

Klopp said he wanted to win a title* within four years of joining, it'll be four years in October 2019 so he's got one more season to achieve his aim

    * I think he meant trophy rather than title #lostintranslation

When you consider the shower of sh*t that he inherited, the amount of players that he has moved on (and still has to move on) and our budget compared to the Manchester clubs, you have to admire what he has achieved so far. The only thing missing is a trophy....but I'm sure that it will come.

foreign managers regularly use "title" to mean a competition.

I'm shrugging at this stuff. spain reporting on german player? nahhhh... well dodgy

    sturrdige must go
    ings should go
    coutinho has gone.

Clearly we need to buy in this area

we have 11 games to go min this season (fingers crossed) and 3 fit forwards plus 2 reserves you'd not play if you had a choice.

sturrdige and coutinho gone really puts us trusting to luck.

Ings could go if Brewster is promoted to the first team, there again Brewster may be another Solanke. Very good at under 23 level but not able to make the move up to prem level. I hope Solanke does make it as I think he puts everything into his game, but has been unlucky on occasion. Once he gets a few Prem goals he may settle down and be a decent centre forward
