I would like to drop him off at Portsmouth but I just hope that the useless twat doesn't start tomorrow. <ok>

    Thoughts?

I think it's almost guaranteed he will start. Jewell has said he's still captain and they still want to work out a new contract so I imagine it will be him, Andrews and Bullard or Kennedy if Bullard's not fit enough to start, unless Jewell brings in Hyam / Healy / Drury.

Says on TWTD that JET has been playing as CB in training, are we that desperate!?

I can't believe Jewell would ever let him anywhere near a Town shirt again! <yikes>

Beggars belief after the complete lack of commitment he has shown.

You could argue that he's not a defensive midfielder and some people have compared to him to a Paul Scholes type player (try not to laugh to hard at that comparison!). If you imagine Paul Scholes in our team against Posh and Saints I'm not sure he would have done any better defensively so maybe Leadbitter just needs some better players around him and a defensive midfielder to cover him.

I'm trying to play devil's advocate here but it's very hard to argue in Leadbitter's favour. The guy needs to show some passion as captain. I don't think I'll ever forget the image of him sitting on the floor pulling his socks up as he made a costly error against Saints. Any player worth the shirt would have shown how angry they were at themselves/team mates but he showed no kind of emotion, just got up and carries on.

definately drop him. if we want to play 4-5-1 we can have a midfield of:

    Hyam/Kennedy (holding role)
Bullard Andrews/ Bowyer (playing in the final third)
    JET Carson (out wide)

For me we just dont need him. He's not a good enough defender to be effective in the holding role and he offers nothing in terms of purposeful attack whereas all of the other do. And if we wanted a 4-4-2 which we should be playing i wouldnt have him in (I would actually much prefer to give Drury a go, or Colin Healy who i still think can be effective.

With you on that one sven he is certainly not the player he was for us, and its not that Norris has left that is affecting his performance because last season wasnt as good as his first for us either. Maybe he finds captaincy a burden and a distraction but we cant keep ignoring his errors because they are costing us dear, but its early season so theres time to put things right unless he would rather be away?

I personally dont think leadbitter is a bad player altho i think he is a crap captain who is not capable of playing and runnnin his ship at the same time .

Everyone moans about us letting Macauley go but people were wanting him out at one time until he lost the captaincy then his game seemed to turn around .

I say give the armband to an older wiser head then give him a chance . If he is still crap then fair enough .

hope spanish is not booking his plane tickets after this post .lol

Drury was Jewell's first signing and everytime I've seen him I thought he looked decent, good touches, keeps possession well and has a good eye for a pass. So why isn't Jewell giving him a look in especially when we have been as poor as we have been of late. I can (sort of) understand his reluctance to drop Leadbitter but his performances don't inspire much in the fans and quite clearly another dire performance and the fans (if not already) will give him a lot of grief on the pitch. Throw Drury in and lets see what he's actually about in the centre of the park.

I don't understand why Jewell has made him skipper! He doesn't lead by example thats for sure. He goes missing most of the time and he makes bad mistakes giving the ball away that had lead to some of the goals. IMHO Andrews would be far better as skipper as he is far more vocal. Leadbitter doesn't deserve his place in the side let alone as skipper and I can't wait for him to **** off!

JET as CB - think not. As I've said before, he is not at all good in the air for a big fella..........

" I personally dont think leadbitter is a bad player "

Thank god your not our manager is all I can say.

I've NEVER rated him, all he can do is pass sideways or backwards, about 10 yards off the pace in midfield, awful shooting, terribly techinically, not great in the air or in the tackle.

One of the complete biggest wastes we've had.

At least Norris ran around and gave it his all. This donkey has offered us absolutely nothing.

For a so called " more defensive " midfielder its alarming he's always so damn far off the pace / and doesn't offer the defence literally any protection.

He's absolutely horrific. Why do we keep getting caught on the break ? Due to absolute donkeys like him playing central midfield. Simple. The sooner he goes the happier I will be.

I agree Dundee he has been a good player for us in the past so i think the armband does weigh heavy on his arm, i also don't think slagging him off is very productive or the way we should be treating a first team regular (for the past 3 years). As for Macauley i'm still glad he has gone as i never rated him.

In as much as I agree with your comments Weighty in that Leadbitter is not captain material and he has played well for us in the past, I beleive also there is a good player in there somewhere. I'm not really sure who should have the armband really, I don't think it can be given to any of the new players yet and also are ay of the old players we have at the club likely to be in the 1st team, the only one at the begginging of the summer who seemed to be play alot of 1st team football and been at the club for more than a few weeks was Leadbitter. Clearly I think someone like Andrews is more Captain material but I don't think a captian should be a loan signing or a new signing, in the future he may be.

But even though I personally haven't slagged him off on here and don't neccessarily agree with some of what has said about him, I don't think slagging him off on here will matter one bit, unless he reads these boards which is unlikely if he has any sense. Clearly booing him during a match will have an adverse affect on him and I don't particularly agree with.

I also can't believe you're glad McAuley has gone, a) I thought he was one of the best defenders at this level(I know many disagree with this) and b) even if you don't rate him as high as I did, being glad he has gone with the defenders we currently have do you think we are actually better off without him??

Believe me i am glad McAuley is gone i think he is weak but i agree we need to bring in some defenders but he would not make the list as to players i think would improve us.

I'm sure that if he gets slagged off on here it happens elsewhere.
