Don't worry Swanny I'm not about to jinx your selection! It did draw me to look at that race though, and one stood out, albeit not for good reasons. I don't know who the Hon. Mrs Pakenham is but she must really love her horse He's Our Robin to keep shelling out on fee's etc. when he is clearly pretty hopeless. A 28 race maiden, 8 year old gelding, he has placed just 5 times out of those 28 races. The closest he's been to winning was a 2.3/4 length second and once a 3 length 3rd of 4. His usual finishing distance behind the winner must be around the 40 length mark and his SP's reflect his results. He once went off 5-4 fav for some reason - he finished 5th, 33 lengths behind the winner; sent off another time at 13-8 2nd fav, he did finish 2nd, only 6.1/2 lengths behind. When he first qualified for an official rating, he was handed 111 based on what is anyone's guess, he started to slide, got to 91 then managed another second and got bumped back to 95. He's been on the slide ever since, but very slowly and sits now at a perch of 89 - still around 19lb too much in my opinion! He is predictably the outsider tomorrow at 25-1, but I wouldn't back him even with Oddy's millions!
That's very interesting, Reebs, just the sort of blighter that might screw up (at long odds) a decent fancy? Yes, Oddy is very lucky, pops over to Kansas every now and again for a big Porterhouse Steak, must be nice!
On the bumper of Huntingdon Commodore Barry 7/2 I think he has a great chance. Kim Bayle won this race last year and the horse was fourth in his previous bumper here on Boxing Day, the 5th and 6th of that race have won later. The race was won by The Big Bite which then ran on the bumper of Chetenham.
i always do wonder why the Lincoln takes place so early. there shouldn't be any flat turf racing until April. i don't mind the NH/Flat crossover in April, but it would also be better if there was no NH racing in May or June. What is the point ?
that above post wasn't edited very well ! tried to say what a competitive bumper that is , with nicky needles and hobbs both having representatives that could win .... along with a host of others !
The dam of the Lieutenant’s charge is a half-sister to the legendary, Barbers Shop. Mill Green has obviously had his problems though as he didn’t see a racecourse until he was a 6YO. Decent money around for him though and been backed into favouritism (or a share of it depending on who your bookie chappie is) this morn.

Fancy hey bill in the 3.05 hunt I also think phare isle in the in the 4.10 tony Carroll has a couple that catch my eye vive le rio in the 3.35 but the bumper elviz is smartly bred by Medicean and the dam is by authorised 66/1 with a good claimer.
I like BREAKING WAVES in the Huntingdon bumper despite the fact that the yard are pretty poor in bumpers. This one has a super pedigree. EW money only and an EW double with KAYF STORM at Market Rasen.
