I may have read this wrong but in the 6:00 Wolverhampton Cookie Ring looks a massive price at 18s. Placed the last twice and also two recent wins all under today's jockey. Can't understand why it's so big and skybet are kind enough to offer me 4 places so had a decent (by my standards) each way on it.
tom lacey seems another very capable and under the radar trainer , knows his oats , trains up in the borders of herefordshire i think , but robbie dunne and him are a very effective combo
Her next race will be huge for us. The Haydock race is a final she qualified for and is 50k and the Ffos Las race is 25k.
Of course we heard its not everyones cup of tea leasing a horse for a season, bit like hiring a taxi, but not many people get their money back with interest!
Some money down for it went off at 10s and not a bad run but didn't seem to last home today. I'm not sure i'd give up on it just yet because we know it gets the trip so maybe one for another day
so how do you all decide on the target ? best hope of most prize money ? ground ? track ? opposition ? is it democratic ??!!
If you don't mind me asking stick what sort of percentage of the prize money do you get personally?

We leased her for the jump season mate and she cost us £20k to lease which includes all training fees, vets bills etc etc. There are twenty of us so £1K each. The owner, Chris Coley, is Fergals business partner, he gets to keep 20% of all prize money. She has won over £18k since we had her so if she doesnt win another penny we can expect to get £750 back.
I would recommend Foxtrot to anyone looking to dip their toe in the water. Syndicates are always twenty people and your 5% costs you £150 a month all in.
That said, Squire is a darn sight cheaper to run. Michael has a nice little Foxwedge 2yo that looks a nippy sort. That one is £500 for the horse then £150 per month all in. That is a horse with ten owners and you get to keep all the prize money, you wont find a better deal than that with any syndicate or trainer.
I think he might need to come down the handicap a few pound Smokie. He's won handicaps off marks ranging from 46 to 52. He was running off 55 today and doesn't look a typical improver. He could even be regressing as a 7 yr old.
Might be worth having another look when his mark goes down to around the mid 40's in handicaps.
