Needed shoes that felt like having slippers on, as standing all day made the feet ache like ****. tried buying ready made shoes and they would cripple me. Once we all started dealing from trading rooms and left the floor for good in 1986 then bought normal shoes.
Ah a boiler room trader - proper ****s that ripped off everyone - what’s not to love. i worked as a stock jobber or market maker in layman’s terms. I set the prices that brokers could trade at. Nowadays i work in Corporate Finance so not as manic !
An old friend of mine got into the carbon credit scam. Made a fortune and then got caught. It’s a miracle he’s not in clink but he definitely won’t be a company director for another few years.
Strange. Maybe I'm not as tough or patriotic as the big lads on the politics thread. All that warfare must have messed them up
As above, you'll pay tax according to you tax code on your first job (depending on your salary) with the first £11k tax free. Then on your second job your tax code will be BR (basic rate) at 20%
@Commachio just make sure your current employer doesn't have a conflict of interest clause in your contract cos sometimes they'll bin you if you do a second job. Tax wise don't worry about it until you hit 45k. Didn't you used to be a site mgr in Thailand? You must know your stuff, they're taking 40k no bother down here before overtime, SMSTS costs about £500 you can blag the rest.
