And it's a no from me.
There is the issue of the transfer fee and wages...both beyond our means and even if we could afford the eye wateringly high costs, Bales injury record makes it a very risky proposal.
My biggest concern is the negative impact it would have on the player/s left out to accommodate him...Sissoko's confidence would be severely damaged :bandit:

If Levy can make the financials work, then why not. Injuries or no injuries, and at age 29 he is still a top drawer player with a winning mentality and a lot to offer. I`d hate to see him turning out for any other PL club.

Talent and pedigree wise I would have him..maybe just the type of influence we need. Just like he helped Wales play above themselves. Wages would be an issue if he turned up thinking he's a starter...he can fack off

Son>Bale

Putting all the ifs or buts aside of whether this rumour is true or not, I'd take Bale back in a heartbeat.

Even when we knew his head was turned and wanted to leave during his final season with us, he still busted a gut most weeks and scored some worldies. Even if he's a bit injury prone now, his presence around the dressing room would raise our level for sure.

Back then he was really our only top class player. Potentially put him into a squad now with Kane, Sonny, Dele and Eriksen and I'm salivating.

We have a new world class stadium to be unveiled, with a great coach at the helm. If (IF) we can win the FA Cup, I think we look like a very attractive proposition to any top class player, Bale or otherwise.

P.S. Looking for someone who could step in when Kane needs a break? Bale could do it. Played there for us loads of times and looked more than comfortable. In fact, he terrified some defences once we went more central.

Resigning Bale and moving into the new stadium would show that Spurs have serious ambition. It would also shut the media up about us being a selling club and also show our current stars the club is serious about competing at the very top level.

That said financially I can’t see it happening but I’d be more than delighted if it did.

OK this is easy lads. Sell Sissoko, Nando, Winks and buy Bale. Job done.

Also hearing United still want Rose in return for Luke Shaw. Hmm... a 27 year old with delusions of grandeur and carrying a bit of extra timber for a 22 year old who just needs a good coach to rediscover his form? Yeah, go on then.

Nah, have Bale as cover for Ben Davies...

I'd be delighted with a Shaw for Rose swap. At the rate he's going we'll be lucky to get 50p for him this summer.

50p and SOP read similarly...... <laugh>

  1. 1.
a thing of no great value given or done as a concession to appease someone whose main concerns or demands are not being met.

Luke Shaw looks like he's got an arse twice the size of our DOF's

Could do with losing a bit of timber

Sold Bale and Modric to get the other lads...if they were all here we would have bagged at least 2 titles by now. Here's hoping the new stadium can break this cycle of having to sell....even though when players want to move to Madrid, you can't really offer them alternatives.

The false promises made by Arsenal n West Ham, make me a little wary at times.

No such promises have been made to us.

All that has been said is the lesser match day
revenue does put us at a disadvantage to
those PL clubs we seek to permanently usurp.

Ok no actual promise made but I've certainly been hearing from fans on here and elsewhere that the new Stadium will allow us to pay better wages etc and basically make more money available for the benefit of the team. For me that includes more transfer money.

How much more/better ??

I put a conservative estimate that match day
revenue will increase 5/3 times that of old
WHL. So looking at :

Match day revenue will increase to (5/3 - 1) x 42 = 28m.
So a fair bit there for wages, nothing of note for transfer fees.

Wages increasing will do for me as it allows us to dangle that Carrot all the clubs above us and a few below us use to their advantage..we need that to move up another level.

Bale looked pretty sharp yesterday, scoring a hattrick (against an admittedly terrible Chinese defence). But on that evidence, he looks fit to me and ready to return to the new WHL next season :emoticon-0148-yes:
