Planning on going back to college/uni to start a new career, hopefully in September.
Also debating whether to take June or July off and go to either USA or New Zealand for the month, haven't decided yet.

New Zealand is leading at the moment as I've got a mate who owns a huge farm out there so I'd only have to find flight money.

Career wise I've been putting off changing it but I'm getting tired of my line of work so I need to change it, whether that's going back to study or something else.

    Holidays mainly.

Got three weeks in France/North Spain to plan. A few routes and stops between ferry out and ferry back etc.

Get the car sorted in the next couple of weeks, that's on my mind and ****ing with my head.

Get playing golf and shave a shot or two off the handicap, hoping for nice unbroken weather all spring, summer and autumn. Pretty much given up on the idea of winter golf forever.

Win shiyloads at Cheltenham this week, and retire.

Watch Saints win the FA Cup.

Visit my buddy in Espana, near Cadiz. Do a couple of city breaks - maybe New York again, and one in Europe.

I probably would differ with you there, don't see the appeal of the US myself, short term maybe, but long term nah. I've travelled much of the states over many years. It's much the same where ever you go, the EU 50 years from now if people didn't stop it.

'Have a nice day' Fooooook off.

One currency, they don't even know how to add tax into that currency until you get to the tills <doh> tipping is not much better, the biggest pain in the arse ever. But you know what i hate about it, where ever you go it's much and much the same along with the language. Ask for a black coffee and someone will get offended. Simplicity and stupidity at it's finest and damn bloody boring. It's the place where they worshipped the Marlboro man until he died, then they got all precious about life, forgetting the fact that most of them are obese and have a bigger medical problem than a cig could ever give them with the all you can eat. Then they have Disney, the magical land of fantasy, about sums America up in a nutshell with fantasists like Trump in charge, a walking talking live Mickey Mouse. The big American cars have gone, apart from being rust buckets, the world turned eco friendly and flooded them with Japanese instead, you know that place they dropped the atom bomb on. Go to places like Virginia they want to talk about history, what fooking history? They love our Royal Family and think Diana is still alive (ok, i lied on that bit). They get some nice hot sunshine that's a positive, on the East coast, hot but expect a tropical storm at any moment, on the West coast also hot without the tropical bit but don't expect to drink any water there's a shortage. New York i hear someone shout.....oh pleeeease, the city that never sleeps, says it all really. Los Angeles the dustman deliver. Then the great south west....remember what i told you about that black coffee.

It's alright for a few weeks with a nice Villa and the kids, other than that forget it...'have a nice day.'

Might go to Australia end of year to visit a mate travelling.

Probably take a small holiday in the middle.

You are talking about the country that gave the world Louis Armstrong, Fats Domino, Frank Sinatra, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, The Eagles, ****, the list is endless...

Not to mention Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Norman Mailer, Emily Dickinson, Sylvia Plath...

Texas is a completely different culture to California, Tennessee is another world from New York.

Did you have your eyes and ears closed the whole time you were there?

Not feeling the love for the US then <laugh> Got to say personally I love the country. Not the shopping malls and Wendy's and Taco Bell on the corner of every block, but the actual country itself. It's stunning. I've done a fair bit of travelling around California and the natural beauty of the place is incredible. Did a 5 day hike through the back country of Yosemite into the Sierra Nevada once and saw Bears, Eagles, Coyotes, Rattlesnakes and some of the most amazing night skies ever up in the mountains.

I also like the yanks 'can do' attitude. People mistakenly label it as being 'brash' or 'arrogant' but that's because Brits are generally too reserved, apologetic and cynical. The Brits look at a problem and say 'ooh I dunno about that', the Yanks look at it say 'We can do this'. I know that's a sweeping generalisation, but you get the picture.

Hem's gone to charter the great fishing boat in the sky.

Elvis, however, did not die - he just went home <ok>

Anyway plans for 2018. Got a month long trip to Vancouver Island in May. Hoping to see some Orca and take a seaplane out to some uninhabited islands, go and do some exploring off the beaten track. Got my 4 year old daughter with me, so I can't go too 'bush'. But it will be a great experience for her.

Other than that, just plan on growing the business and adding more customers to my portfolio. Might have to think about renting a new unit and employing more staff if it expands. But tbh I'm quite happy keeping it small. Been there and done that with managing teams, budgets, buildings, projects management etc and it's a ****ing headache.
