I think that's another matter, entirely, Ensil. It wasn't the fact that Modric wanted to go that pissed Levy off, it was the way The Chavs and his agent went about it. No, I don't suppose Levy took to kindly to being mugged off. Not many of us would.

    Cardiff fan,

Why spend millions when you can get players like Adebayor on loan? What is so good about spending big?

As far as I am concerned this is the best bit of business done along with the Given deal. Man City, the sweet shop where all the sweets are free or cheap.

There is a more serious issue here, that Citeh are now effectively fielding more than 11 players in the sense that players who are on loan to other PL teams can play against all the other teams in the league except (understandably) their 'parent' team and therefore for the benefit of the team holding the contract. Nobody is worrying about one or two players but its the principle that needs to be addressed. Citeh could theoretically buy a load of players and loan them all out (I assume they don't count against the squad limit) so that it would make a real difference (in fact one player could if they play very well and Adebeyor might just do that).

Before anyone mentions it I know we are currently doing the same, and I disagree with it in our case too.

    Spurs, HD.

He's referring to Naughton and Caulker, who are on loan at other Premier League clubs.

There's definitely a game which can be played with Spurs' resources to take advantage of what the spending spree teams are doing, and Levy looks like he's playing it well. The really big thing, to me, is that a new stadium is moving along.

So I also think both Levy and Redknapp have done well. Though we'll just have to see how all the gambles play out, they look like good ones to me, and that's all I can ask. My main worry is that the new stadium gets built, though I'm also concerned at the number of players Spurs don't play and aren't moving.
