we played with a lack of precision & composure leading to poor passing & decisions .Thought Mane's passing was atrocious today & the link up from the front 3 never really got going.
Whilst it can't be used as an excuse it did feel like lady luck was with us today .

We were really poor today. Such a poor performance.

Lovren killed us again - 2 long balls and we were unable to defend them. Partner for VVD is badly needed.

As poor as we were, we weren’t as bad as the referee. We should have had 3 penalties and I’m not exaggerating. Pawson should not be officiating Liverpool games again.

Although the ref wasn't why we lost he does bottle decisions and plays the crowd for sure, lost every 50/50, waved away the pens and bottled a red. This sort of game needs experience, clamp down on group fouling and let the game flow when it can.. both us and the ref poor today.

You may have the better footballing side, but lacked intelligence. Utd didn't care that you had possession as they knew you wouldn't do anything with. All the time you were faffing around with it in midfield, gave them the time to reset their 2 banks of 4 to defend it.

Highlight of the match for me was Wijnaldum at the end. I was practically laughing seeing his side pass software working brilliantly as the only pass available was a forward pass. He was really trying to pass it forward but gotta hive his programmer some props as he managed to find milner on the side.

Firmino went for the fancy pass rather than take it on his left and that was our chance gone.

How did Valencia not get a red for a studs up challenge into the chest? Studs up into shins is a red, this was 3 foot higher up on the body ffs

When he gave the free for a perfectly good tackle by Can after 5 minutes you could see the way it was going. He missed all the off the ball shenanigans, should have given Sanchez a card for blocking the free kick and Valencia a red for the shoulder high, studs up challenge.
It doesn't take away from the fact that we weren't good enough, but you're left wondering how the game would have gone with better refereeing.

It was clear to Mourinho just attack the right side of defence. TAA and Lovren have themselves to blame. On all phases for Uniteds goals it was school boy errors. It is clear our left side of defence is solid. Is there another 70 million VVD available that plays RCB?
