Not wishing to get embroiled in this, but Alonso was penalised for exactly the same thing in Suzuka, 2005. You don't hear Alonso fans bringing it up at every single Japanese grand prix. Can we let it go please?
Because it doesn't matter as he'd won the championship anyway, it wasn't for the lead, and it didn't have a post-race penalty which robbed the winner of the race. It was however ridiculous at Suzuka anyway.
If Heidfeld has a valid contract then surely he will be paid out? Or he might want his seat back! I sense some trouble a Renault. Could turn nasty.
Then let the Spa one go, it helped to make one of the most exciting championships. He won it (with bad luck to Massa and a non caring Raikkonen) so why is it two different rules?
If heidfeld has a valid contract to drive the car, then the law clearly states that he shoul drive the car. The only legal reason he has for not driving is due to injury. Renault have badly messed this up, if they are putting Senna in the car, then they should, by law, terminate Heidfelds contract.
Heidfeld should just retire gracefully. Say this comes off and he gets back in the seat. Can you think of a worse situation to drive under? Its over nick.
But now its his big chance. I'm still waiting for him to get food poisoning and Heidfeld ends up racing, that would be awkward
If it's wet i can see a lot of the more inexperienced drivers binning it. Spa is a hard enough course to master in the dry, in the wet, it's mental. I think the marshalls should get the cranes and flatbed lorries ready.
