Easy to criticise team selection in hindsight, but not sure there were many other genuine options? Abel and Wilson best 2 larkers but only just back from injury so understandable they didn't start, maybe swap Irvine and henriksen but other than that none of the lads on the bench or not in the squad have done anything to suggest they're being hard done by. In which case it must just be horrendous tactics and ****e management
I missed a fair chunk of the game either side of half time. But I didn't think we were all that bad. Two really **** goals to concede, were used to that now, but we still could have won had we got a striker up front. What I don't get is Adkins logic. Start with Irvine advanced and Hendrickson playing deep, bring on arguably the best striker in the league and play him in central midfield, whilst whatever Dicko is leads the line up front on his own. And then the final 10 minutes or so, ok that was dreadful and clearly an order from Adkins. We just suddenly changed from trying to play it through where we were causing problems and looking like nicking a goal or two, to hopeless, aimless hoofing which achieved absolutely **** all. Defence aside we have a good squad of players and I'm confident could outscore anyone if they were utilised properly. Manager change needed now else we're down.
That was complete DOGSHIT Adkins bad decisions: playing one up front, playing for a draw, playing henrikson, playing grosiki instead of Wilson, subbing Irvine, picking out one player to slate at the end. Got to get rid of this **** he's a boring, ****ing idiot. League one next year. And the Allams are ****s.
Heard Adkins comments about Meyler last night but could not believe I had heard it right. Listened again this morning and when talking to Burnsie about why Meyler is not even getting on the bench he said "We have a big squad and some people can't cope with competition or a relegation scrap" Also when asked about including Henrickson (who did not play that bad) Adkins said well he is an International, so Burnsie said well Meyler is also an International and is club Vice Captain and has had loads of experience. Honestly what can you say, how bloody insulting to Meyler. If he had said something about him not playing well at the moment or not training well then fair enough but to question his mentality when he puts that lot on the pitch.
Explain, in full, why Henriksen was a poor choice last night please. Over say, Irvine or Larsson. Or Stewart. Or the injured Evandro. Or an out of form, pissed off Meyler (actually, that might have come in handy. If there was one game we needed Dave, it’s a Millwall game.)
https://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/2018/february/tickets--hull-city-v-millwall/ £12 for their barrow boy fans Is their chairman subsidising that?
We supposedly played the formation we do so we have an extra man dropping into midfield. Dicko is so isolated at times it's 4-5-1. The midfield 4 of Millwall completely dominated our midfield 5 - embarrassingly. Henriksen isn't strong enough to impose himself on the opposition and he seems too slow to get around the pitch. That's not criticism of him, as nobody comes out of last night well. So in terms of protecting the back 4, it's just not his style of play.
yeah what he said, felt I was summoned by the boss there, Here it is in full: He is rubbish, no workrate or skill and all 5 you mentioned are better (even Stewart and Evandro with an injury) But at least he gives hope to the rest of us because if he can get a shirt we all stand a chance
That's simply bollocks, Henriksen was one of our better players last night and was one of our better players in the game he got injured in.
Not sure you can criticize the tactics and formation so much. Lots of teams play with a lone striker, if the team gets it right the striker is never isolated, they have the no.10 to play off, or a winger cuts inside, its not a case of having 1 upfront so he's on his own. We've needed a system for years and other than Bruce's 3 at the back, this is the most settled formation we've had in a while... i would stick with it. What Adkins does need though is a settled first 11 which he hasnt had. If we can keep Hernandez and Wilson fit, a front 3 with Bowen is perfect going forwards. Larrson and Irive in midfield with either Evandro or Toral behind the strikers... the defense sorta picks itself. I agree with whats been said regarding Adkins post match comments, he's too positive sometimes and last night when he finally says something negative its focused on 1 player, MacDonald.. Yes he was poor first half but players have had much worse games previously and Adkins hasnt said a thing. He needs to be more consistent with that. Unfortunately for Adkins many of the players he has at his disposal arnt playing for the shirt or arnt good enough. They're either on loan from a better club or have their eyes set on a move in the summer. It's not a settled group of players due to contracts etc and all of this cant be easy to manage. For me he's doing the best he can do in a bad situation. If everything was rosy at the club and we were still playing like this then yes, slag the manager off... but i dont think its fair to do so with all thats going on.
That price was for members and season ticket holders and only if bought in advance, it was announced after the game on saturday that tickets would be 26 quid on the night, no mention as to if anyone was subsidising the cost.
I don’t agree I didn’t see much from Henriksen last night. He was good winning things in the air, but other than that he just ambles around without doing much I’m not saying he was bad last night, just very average and off the pace, certainly not one of our better players (although no one shone until Wilson came on) That could be due to tactics or not being played in a more suitable position, but I really just don’t see much in him and didn’t last night either
Agree. He was the stand out player. Made himself available, got the ball moving, gave us a bit of tempo, worked hard and won the ball a good number of times. One of the one or so players who had a good game. Any whinging about him is just whinging for whingings sake and simply bollocks.
Overall, I think he's a bit meh, not brilliant at anything, but fairly competent at everything. I think his contribution last night is being discounted by some based on a pre-conceived idea of what he contributes, though not by everyone, he's currently only being beaten by Wilson in the MOTM vote. Quite how anyone can criticise him ahead of Grosicki after last nights performance is beyond me. I'd start him alongside Larsson on Saturday, in a 4-4-2, with Bowen and Wilson on the wings and Abel and Dicko up top.
I think we’re all agreed that Meyler has had a falling out. Despite what the manager says it impossible to leave him out on ability, bottle or form of others. So what’s the deal with Fraysyer Cambell? Anyone?
