I really wish Janssen had decided to go to Brighton on loan. He would have had a lot more PL games, and Chrissy to help him understand much more about the Spurs tradition and supporter culture.
I'm buying my godson this. It'll keep him occupied forever... please log in to view this image ...he's invisible.
Great win for Chris Hughton and Brighton despite the best efforts of Mr Attwell. Thoroughly deserved win Glenn Murray proving that speed is not everything an excellent display from him,
Steve: Pep Guardiola wants protection for his players. How about protection against his players. Oleksandr Zinchenko's challenge was disgusting. Mark: Why not a red for Zinchenko. Studs were clearly showing, no control. Are the refs frightened of upsetting Pep. < we are not alone >
It's hardly the first time that refs haven't given the big decisions against Citeh is it? For example earlier in the season the ref failed to red card Kompany when he stopped Vardy getting away when he was the last defender. We then hear the pundits cream themselves over Citeh's unbeaten run (as usual) forgetting to mention that if you don't get red cards against you, score offside goals and have as much extra time as you need, it's much easier to have an unbeaten run.
Chelsky did similar to Spurs at the PL game at Wembley, and still won with the only chances they got on target. No doubt Conte is betting on being equally clinical today.
Should city win, am I right in thinking that if they win their next few games before they play us, that they could have secured the league by the time we face them? If so, that could be massive. If they are still in the CL we could potentially face a weakened side.
IIRC the earliest they can clinch the title is the Manc derby which is the game before we face them. Massive incentive for them to win it at home to their neighbours and one would imagine they'd take their very expensive feet off of the very plastic pedal after that.
I thought I’d worked it out correctly. I’m not sure how CL fans fit into this schedule, but you’d think of our game falls during a crucial CL game and they’ve already won the PL, we may be seeing some key players rested. Fingers crossed.
If they win today, they will need 4 wins to be certain. At present, Spurs are the 4th of those games, but if points are dropped by the "chasing" group, it could be over by then.
