Although the male pundit in the studio is a breath of fresh air after days of "union flag tinted" commentators, co commentators and pundits thinking everything is unfair.
Clare Balding was about to go full "This is a miscarriage" narrative before he answered that it was a correct decision and she stalled.
I'm all for being fully behind the athletes and supporting the Brits but there isn't much objectivity these days on TV and there is far too much going over the top when we do get success...............like how SPOTY is now a marathon borefest taking up hours and hours (days cumulative) of airtime over the prior months in
Its enough to make me stop moaning about the constant curling instead of the more entertaining events like snowboarding and the freestyle events. Bloody red button is useless. No idea why there is such an obsession with Curling.
Although the other night was quite good with some cold pert nipple action in the skating (if you watched it live) in between constant curling coverage.

Because it is like Bowls on ice, and the majority of people at home to watch it are of the age that play bowls.
Having said that, I actually enjoy watching it, and it is the only thing I have watched, as the whole Winter Olympics, thing, bores me to tears.
I love the curling personally. My favorite part of these olympics.
Lots of tactics and precision where a single well played stone can turn an end on its head. You can even hear the players talking about their plans which is pretty unusual.
Completely different from the speed, chaos and ??? Of speed skating though.

The majority of people of that age are in bed through the night with us young uns awake. So they could put curling on during the day replayed. The curling can take hours per game. It takes up so much time. I wanna see more Ice skaters boobs after the 9pm watershed live and un-pixelated.
And inbetween boob watch, snowboarders and skiers doing aerial tricks then doing the "puta" hand sign and sticking their tongues out waiting for their score, British scores of course to be met by commentators talking of injustice and how they have been robbed.
And some live waxed moustaches jumping over 100m slotted in the gaps.

Anyone remember Stuart McManus? No, me neither, but he was a Saints player from 1983-1986, making 2 first team appearances and scoring one goal in his final season. He went to Newport County, and then spent many years playing for various clubs in Sweden, where he still lives.
Anyway, his daughter Sarah is currently playing for Sweden against Great Britain in the Curling semifinal.

I remember his one goal as I was there. It was an evening game away at QPR when they still had their plastic pitch and before the game there was a match between the Junior Saints and the Junior Rs that I played in. I can't remember the score in our game but Saints won 2-0 that night and I'm sure I got Stuart's autograph afterwards

personally love the curling but can't watch all of it. It's filler basically unless your nation is in it. Loads of games all day so they just pad out tHe schedule.
It took 26 years but NZ finally got on the medal table! Definitely had the promise to deliver and hopefully the snowboard big air could bring us another!
I don't agree with the medals mean funding model but NZ sport does so these results will mean coaches keep jobs and the sports get money to continue.

If Scotland had voted leave in their indyref, would we even have a winter Olympics team apart from a couple of sledgers? Even the bloody Swedes have got a Scot in their team
On another note, we have a couple of big TVs on all day in the office showing whatever chilly pastimes happen to be available and after several days of this games I've come to the conclusion that most are really dull (especially the ice bowling). Honest question, does anyone believe it's worth spending millions just to put a team out?

Yes. I love practically all the sports at the Winter Olympics, and it’s great viewing. Of course it helps if you have someone to cheer on, but some of the close contests where we don’t have representation are incredibly gripping. The Ice Hockey games between the Canada and USA women, and the Canada and Germany men, were nail biting. And the curling is just brilliant!
I like the Ski cross. Look out for the guy from Southampton in the snowboarding.

Fair enough Chilco, just not my thing I guess. I don't find the curling interesting at all, no more gripping for me than snooker and the other stuff hasn't made me want to watch it more. I appreciate the skills involved, but I've not been on the edge of my seat
Strangely, it was the British who popularized bobsleighing. British guests in a St Moritz hotel used to ride sleds through the streets at high speed to the danger of the locals...which resulted in special runs being built so races could be held safely.
Alpine skiing as a sport was also invented by the British, somewhat improbably.
