Bowie's greatest moment, of course.

About 1973 time I used to work with a lass who was a massive Bowie fan. She could have been the original Space Cadet. She used to sit there going on about how each Bowie song was like he was talking to her and giving her a message. I asked her what the message was in Laughing Gnome and she was most unamused.

Everyone does incredibly stupid things when they're young, Bowie just decided to release that monstrosity <laugh>

He wanted to be the next Antony Newley. That was his equivalent of Strawberry Fair. If it had been a big success he might have gone down a different path. Bowie was like a chameleon constantly changing. Hard to say whichnof his differrnt persona he took seriously.

I would say he took them all too seriously. But that helped the music most of the time.
