...would be ... but the Pozzos have no need to sell ... so unless there is a release clause, probably just the normal bollox<cheers>

Yeah, it's probably bollocks, as you say, Fosse.

Still, the fact that it's being reported that Spurs are being linked to players, as opposed to our players and our manager being linked to other clubs, is something for all Yids to celebrate.

...apparently Liverpool will 'break the bank' to sign Wilfrid Ndidi in the summer and Man United will buy Harry Maguire ... just one little stumbling block ... our owners <cheers> (and contracts to 2022) <laugh>

Tasty.

Both very good players. Too good for Watford, especially Doucoure.

He'd be a perfect fit for Arsenal imo. Wenger will buy a flimsy attacker instead though.

  • Klopp views Eagles’ star as long-term solution to defective midfield
  • He will do well at Anfield – Etim
Liverpool are ready to break the bank for the Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as coach Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his midfield next summer. Klopp has a number of decent options but none who are naturally defensive. Captain Jordan Henderson Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are more attack-minded while James Milner and Emre Can who have strong defensive abilities can’t be relied upon in the long term.

The former is 32-year-old already while the latter can go on a free transfer at the end of the season. Ndidi has been a mainstay in the Foxes’ midfield and has impressed in his first season in the English Premier League. He arrived from Belgian side Genk last winter to fill gap left by Ngolo Kante in 2016. At just 21-years-old he is developing into a dominate force in the anchor role at the King Power stadium. According to reports in England which was monitored by our correspondent, Klopp views Ndidi as an excellent addition who offers something that no-one else at the club can do.

The German reportedly believes the Nigerian can give Liverpool that midfield protection they haven’t had since Javier Mascherano left in 2010. Ndidi who is adjudged the best tackler in the EPL this term so far, is valued at about $75million and Liverpool are ready to splash the cash on him. However, former Super Eagles midfielder Etim Esin believes his compatriot can break into the Red’s starting line up without much fuss considering his talent. He said it would be a good move for Ndidi if he eventually sealed the transfer to Merseyside.

He said: “I can’t remember the last time we had a Nigerian in Liverpool apart from Victor Moses’ brief stint there. This is going to be a fantastic move for him and I think his transfer fee is likely going to go up because it could happen shortly after the World Cup.

“Ndidi has been doing well at Leicester; he is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the EPL now and should command that kind of transfer. I don’t think he will struggle at Liverpool, he is a player made for big club like that and with the role he plays, there is no way he will be sitting on the bench there. He’s certainly not going to be like Kelechi iheanacho who moved to Leicester to become an option to Jamie Vardy; I see Ndidi walking straight into that Liverpool’s side.”

Think it would take more than £50m to take both. Richarlison still has 4 years left on his contract and think Doucoure has at least 3.

Doucoure would be a much bigger miss than Richarlison - he has been fantastic for about a year now and is a prime example of why Mazzari was such a clown last season... that he didn't get a game until we had loads of injuries, and was almost sent out on loan last January.

Both are certainly too good for Watford at the moment, but if we do want to progress then we need to keep both. Hoping we can bring back Cucho from his loan next season as he looks an exciting prospect already, but Barca are already sniffing around him!

There is growing opposition to the idea that Tottenham will play an FA Cup semi-final at their temporary home of Wembley if they reach the last four - but the Football Association will not move the game from the ground. (Times)

Hang on!

What happened to our Wembley hoodoo?

Spurs 1 Chelsea 5
Spurs 0 Chelsea 2
Spurs 2 Chelsea 4
Spurs 1 Chelsea 2

... the likes of Southampton and ourselves are changing the market ... the obscene money swirling around the Premier League means that 'selling clubs' no longer have to, and are more than happy to put price tags on players that primarily are there to deter potential suitors or, if it doesn't, will reflect the 'real value' of a key player to a club ...

Definitely - just had to look at how we stood firm when people were trying to buy Deeney from us. It was crazy money for him as he was worth nowhere near what was quoted - but we didn't need to sell and he didn't push for a move. He was worth a lot more to us than the money. Same for Ighalo when teams (especially from China) started coming in for him. We sold him when we wanted to (when he turned to a pile of poo)

It may be a bit harder to hold onto Richarlison though as Silva was a big reason he signed for us, and get that feeling he would agitate for a move once a big club comes in for him. Although Gomes has taken him under his wing... so hoping that means a lot.
