Saw my dad retire through ill health in his late fifties and be limited in what he could do.
Told him and mam to spend it but having lived through the war they were careful with their cash. Mam will still walk into Porth even though I tell her to get a taxi. Shes in her 80s.
It's a fine line. Got a few mates in their fifties with no kids. Theyre trying to work out the glide path to have spent everything by the time they curl their toes up.
I'm early fifties and my daughter will get the house and a couple fields I own. Not saying there'll be anything else left though.
Trying not to work full time so I can do stuff while my body is still up to it. 25 years playing rugby has taken its toll.

Aber pal, when you make or attempt a ‘funny” ...instead of an emoji type picture coming up, the word wink in brackets appears! Do you write that or has your wink failed? Are you a failed winker pal? :emoticon-0103-cool:

Went in our promotion year remote - I didn't like to mention it at the time because of the general upbeat mood on here. <ok>

Ccfcremote, all I have will go to my daughter and grandkids, at 57, I'm having a ball, traveling around Asia and still working. The money is relative to the local economy and UK based guys would laugh their arses off if I said how little I take home.
Bottom line, I get to see a lot more of the world and I'm loving it. My UK state pension will be lower when I eventually retire, but I don't think about it, you're dead long enough, travel and get some sun.

Well, my Wurzle supporting Mrs wasn't best pleased to get home from work this evening only to have me tell her....

"Well you WERE 3 up at half time, but......."

Maybe it was the smirk on my face as I was saying it but she really wasn't happy

Not big on travelling Taff. More of a home bird. Sun doesnt do much for me either. Once it gets past 70 its wasted on me.
Like being outdoors though. Trout and salmon fishing take up a slug of time as does helping my daughter and her boyfriend setting up a Farm. Especially if it involves playing with my tractor.
Could have done without 6 hours in the snow and wind yesterday though.
Was planning to have retired in a couple years but plans change. Been doing contract project management work for a while and quite often take time off between contracts. Had 9 months off in 2015. I describe it as taking my retirement early....

    ....in bits.

Means I'll work a few years longer but get chunks of time off in the meantime.
    Works for me.

2-0 up and they fecked it up.

Leeds should have won that today. Wurzels fell apart completely.

    Gutted Pack is suspended.

That Bryan needs to be targeted - cant defend.

FFS Hilts don't you upset them as well - I thought it was only me in the dock standing accused of being nasty........<laugh><laugh>

Totally agree though. Had to go out for the evening but recorded it and watched later last night. Leeds were bloody hopeless first half and the Wurzels should have been the 3rd side in a row after Millwall and us to stick 4 on them up there.

Second half completely different. Leeds stopped giving the ball away cheaply and pushed them back. The goals came and it should have been Leeds who scored 4.

Fair reslt in the end? Maybe so but any side that squanders a 3 and a 2 goal lead in consecutive games has some problems to solve.
