A desk.
Liverpool fan in peace.

Alright, was wondering what's happened? I had a quick look at the Sunderland section after your Carling Cup against Brighton and the feeling wasn't good.

As i'm sure you're aware, we played you in the first game of the season. Now, I don't want to go over the decisions in that game but I felt Liverpool played well in the first half and could have had a decent lead. But in the second half, Sunderland came back into it well and got a deserved point.

Since then, it hasn't gone well. You lost the derby against Newcastle 1-0. From what I saw of the highlights of that game, you started well but seemed to drop off a bit and Newcastle got the goal. You then went down to Brighton in the Carling Cup and didn't play a striker which I thought was a bit weird. You went out that night but so did other Premier League teams.

Is there an underlying problem or issue which has made some of you change your mind regarding the manager or is it a blip?

Good luck for the rest of the season! (Apart from the Liverpool game!)

Bruce has lost the support of many, and those of us left ain't exactly over the moon either.

Bruce has lost the faith completely of many Sunderland supporters, and that hasn't happened because of 3 games. There's been a whole heap of remarkably weird and unfathomable decisions from Bruce, and some supporters have had enough. I'm still JUST about on Bruce's side, but as cammachio says, i'm hardly over the moon with him. For some reason, i think he can turn it around but i've no idea why i think like that. He needs to turn it around SHARPISH! God knows what'll happen should we lose to Swansea.

Bruce still has my support, although I was totally baffled by his team selection at Brighton which has left him wide open to criticism.

Cheers for the responses lads!

From the outside looking in at Sunderland and Steve Bruce... It seems like he is doing well. Sunderland have a good owner, a great chairman and a good stadium. Steve Bruce has brought some excellent players in this window and I just feel that he should be given time. The players that he has brought will start gelling and then the results should start coming in.

<ok>

He needs time to show us what his signings are made of. I too am on his side but like others on here I was baffled by the Carling cup team selection, I dont think any Sunderland fan had that team predicted.

We need a win to lift moods and hopefully get the team up and running. Some fans will never forgive him for the derbys so he has his doubters.

SUNDERLAND CARLING CUP - LAST 5 YEARS
•2011-12 - Brighton (a) R2 0-1
•2010-11 - West Ham (h) R3 1-2
•2009-10 - Aston Villa (h) R4 0-0 (1-3 pens)
•2008-09 - Blackburn (h) R4 1-2
•2007-08 - Luton (a) 0-3 R2

"We've come to take it seriously because we knew what it meant," Bruce added

He then proceeds to put out a team selection that was baffling, at best, without a striker, against Brighton.

Now maybe you can understand why some people ain't to happy.
