Carroll has room for improvement. He's only a young lad and when he develops an understanding with the influx of left footers now in the side, ( Downing,Adam,Enrique), which has created more balance, then I'm sure he will prosper. It may take a bit of time, but it will happen.
I assume his peak will come when he cuts off the pony tail because age can't have much to do with it. Wayne was already banging goals and grannies by the lorryload at 22.
You can't win can you? If he wasn't involved in the goals, people would be complaining he wasn't good enough. If he is involved in the goals then it's a worry as he's the only one? We've only played about 60 minutes of meaningful football without him (when he was sub v Arsenal) so it's not like we've played 5 games in which we haven't scored!
If you want to look at what Suarez does for the team look at last year, Kuyt with a hat-trick, Maxi with 2, Carroll had 2 in one game. He makes everyone around him better, if he scores, well God forbid!!!! This is really stupid, we have a good squad with depth finally and we want to say we are reliant on him? Get the f*** out of here with that. Would we struggle without him? maybe, but we don't rely on him. I can easily see a Carroll ( although still suspect), Adam, Downing, start to take a game over. Least we forget Mr. Reliable when we need a goal, Kuyt.
Exactly - he makes the team play better. But what if he doesn't play? I have seen a couple of games when he wasn't playing and we lacked that spark, the link from midfield to attack. I suppose time will tell if we can cope without him should he sustain an injury - on paper, we can get goals from a lot of players incl Carroll, Maxi, Raul, Kuyt, Downing.
We'll be alright. After 2 games I'm not worried, wasn't the last game without him last season away to Chelsea?
