we haven't got £140m from the sale of Coutinho and may never get that much due to the add ons. Think the money we have so far received for Couts has been more than spent on VVD . Since the next TV deal* is going to come out less in absolute terms never mind allowing for inflation there may be new constraints on the budgets of clubs who are reliant on generating their own revenue. * The overseas revenues are expected to rise so the overall total may be higher once all are announced.
Mig is almost certainly a goner, that was clear soon after he was dropped again. This means that we need another keeper regardless of whether or not Karius remains first choice. Karius has looked better the last couple of games but still hasn't been tested over a long enough period for us to be sure. It's inevitable that there will be some cock-ups, and it's important to see how he responds to them. We should remember that Mig started off rather well.
It's about time. I can't believe that Klopp would enter next year without a top keeper lined up tbh. He should have seen enough of Karius to know if he's good enough. Mignolet leaving will be one of a few who will leave this year who ought to have left much earlier: Migs Sturridge Ings Markovic Bogdan Lovren or Klavan (if we buy another CB) Not much value in that lot tbh but will free a good Amount of wages.
Exactly. Those who bang on about a keeper losing points would do well to remember how many they save as well. I seem to remember he got MotM a couple of times in his first few games as well. Then a couple of big mistakes came along and he never seemed to recover his confidence. I've said all along Mig isn't a bad keeper - but if we're going to be consistently challenging at the top we need a better one. In particular one who dominates his box and takes control better than he does. And has fewer errors in him. Is Karius the one? Despite the decent showing in the last couple of games he still has a way to go before we can be confident in him. I suppose by the end of the season we'll have a better idea, but I'd hate to be going into the next season with him as first choice if he doesn't show himself to be a marked improvement on Mignolet.
The main thing is the players seem confident in Karius, allowing them to play higher and break faster
true. if everyone is on same page and moving positively for his pass we can break much quicker but yes VVD is demanding a higher line and tighter offside play so he is demanding sweeping up and karius has responded. We really need this element from both of them defensively.
See we are being linked with Wanyama to replace Can. Would not be a bad move, bet Spurs would want £100+ plus for him as they are dicks when it comes to pricing their players.
We could pretend that he went to Spurs direct from Celtic and that Southampton is just a cruise ship leaving point. That might work.

Keep your eye on Diego, he's reading the thread then taking its contents to the Spuds "Rival Watch" thread and laughing about the comments with the Spuds. #****stirrer
Tbf, I think Big Smithy's comment was a bit racist, making fun of an African players name is a bit ****ty. An African player looking at his username would no doubt assume him to be a big fat **** who shoes horses.
