Saints will be hosting an Open Training Session on the 1st of September. Open Training Session @ St. Mary's Stadium - Starting at: 10:30 (Concourse will open at 09:30) More details to be posted on the Official Site ( www.saintsfc.co.uk ) in due course. Thoughts?
Saints are using social media to gather lots of young people in one place? Hampshire Police better not get wind of this, the club will get 4 months inside for that.
Just read about this on the OS and it says that it'll be the first time of them getting together after the transfer window shut, reading between the lines do you think that there could be a couple of surprise signings? maybe me reading to much into it but it was kind of strange that they put that line in there,it seemed a bit of insignificant information.
I read it totally differently from saintadam..said chance to see new signing de Ridder, Cork and Fox on day after window closes, so I thought no more new signngs then. Shows you can read what you like into it. Think its a nice idea to involve fans..let them see and meet players.
I have never been to one of these 'open to the public training session shindigs' before. Anyone who has, what are they like?! And saintadam, that would be nice!
I see where you are coming from Fran! "As the squad will also gather for the first time on completion of this summer's transfer window". Now does this mean the end of the transfer window or the completion of Saint's squad (with a new face or two)?!
Back when WGS was manager, if there was nothing doing midweek, I'd pop along to a reserves match, when they were held at St Marys. At one match I think we had a little over 10,000 attendance. Not only was it fun to watch up and comers, and hence getting better informed, but also one would get to see new signings having a run out. I remember when we signed Peter Crouch, to the dismay of many, and he couldn't get into the team. I went along to see him play in the reserves, and he was far and away the most talented player on the pitch. He scored a couple and assisted another. I reported his brilliance to the forum I was contributing to, and got loads of barracking for it. I think he was in the first team the weekend afterwards. He quickly won the fans over. I'd like to see those evenings return. They may have been free, but people still spent out on burgers, pies, pints, etc...
To be fair the kid who did it in Southampton got released after he apologised to the council I think.
I went to that one remember booing crouch initially fastest turn around ever he was awesome that game. Got hooked on reserve games that season!
