According to JC, no not Mr Christ...

Maybe he should cast his eyes over this board for a while..

JACK Colback insists there is no panic in the Sunderland dressing room, despite sustaining two body blows this week.

Sunderland head to Premier League new boys Swansea City on Saturday still looking for their first victory of the campaign and under fire from supporters after defeat to Newcastle United and Tuesday’s Carling Cup exit at Brighton.

Midfielder Colback admits the pressure is on the Black Cats now to kick their season into gear, but claims there is still a firm belief that the quality at Steve Bruce’s disposal will be converted into victories.

“I don’t think the dressing room is worried about the recent results, as we have the players in our squad who are capable of turning this around,” Colback, right, said.

“There was a bit of added pressure coming off the back of that defeat to Newcastle, but even so, it was disappointing to lose a game like that at Brighton – especially for the fans.

“But I don’t think we should be panicking yet. After all, we’ve shown what we can do already this season with a good second half performance at Liverpool to get a point, so we can raise our game, starting at Swansea.

“We needed to be more clinical in the final third of the pitch at Brighton and against Newcastle in order to keep the pressure off ourselves and to stop little mistakes from happening.

“Obviously, it is at that stage now where we need a little bit of luck.

“There may be one game where it all comes off, but it does feel like we’re hitting brick walls, despite all the effort we’re putting in.”

Sunderland face a Swansea side who are also looking for their first victory of the campaign.

But, like Brighton, the Swans are still basking in the glow of last year’s promotion and will be confident they can out manoeuvre Sunderland in the Wearsiders’ first ever trip to the Liberty Stadium.

“They’re a similar team to Brighton in that they like to keep the ball and pass it around, but we need to play with the same intent and hopefully put a few chances in,” added Colback.

“We would have rather played badly and won at Brighton. But now people have got to come out fighting, starting at Swansea.

“I’m sure Swansea will look at our result at Brighton and think they are in with a chance, but this is an opportunity for us to show that although we’ve taken a knock, we can come back fighting.”

Make of the high-lighted bits what you will.

Far too early in the season to worry. One of our title winning sides in the early part of the 20th century had 4 points at Christmas but on to win the title and nearly did the double
