Winning Mentality

We are making good progress in team development and grinding out results on the pitch as a hard to beat 'top half' team.

But 12 drawn games out of 29 also suggests we could have been in a lot better position in the table with a little bit of extra something?. Ability, new players, positive attitude, taking opportunities or Luck!

Are we playing with too much of a 'do not lose' mentality? As Pearson said last night one win & one loss is better than two draws (QPR / L**ds).

Might be too late for this season, but for next year.... What do you think is the main thing needed for us to become more of a winning side?

We need to find that small gap between 3 points and 1 point. This is an exciting young team in my eyes. In fact technically they put the mugs who got us relegated to shame.

The future is more than promising. Hungry young players with the chance to improve and the right to EARN bigger contracts. Its all been ran correctly at last. Fans need to be patient.

I don't think it is too late for this season. 11 or 12 wins will do it. NP has re-modelled the team and they are looking better and better, last night was a much better performance. Losing Ash and potentially Harps (if his foot is buggered) might force NP into having to go for it, we may concede 1 or 2 but so long as we score 2 or 3 the end result could be a play off place.

11 wins out of 17, would be brilliant to see.... but it's form no one else in the league is producing (although Forest are trying hard!), so this year is a very long shot for promotion.

I like you idea of 'having more of a go' to win games in the rest of the season, but will Pearson be brave enough to take the risk?

I thought the attitude was pretty positive last night. Attacking substitutions, despite having to cope with injuries, a fair number of chances etc. I think luck is a factor - we could easily have won that game. Being hard to beat takes more than luck though and that's what NP has given us of late. I don't think it will take much to turn draws into wins, provided we play just as well against the lower placed teams and confidence remains high.
