Frst off, hats off to Jean Huelin for the collection, and to those who gave - a real good moment.
As usual, I wasn't there so my comments are based on following text update. Once again, this sounded horribly like a manager who cannot see a game out. It's been a regular suggestion that mucking about with the defence in the last few minutes simply disrupts things just when you want to keep the ship steady. There has been some criticism of Lennon, but he was basically thrown into a silly situation by a manager who seems to be playing favourite's too often. Dropping Aribo and sending KAG out on loan when both were showing a bit of form is a silly bit of man management, as is the persistence with the misfiring Magennis. The general comments on the match are that we palyed well enough, so it seems unfair to attack the team as I'm sure they were as gutted as the fans who paid to travel up and watch that last minute disaster. I expect that if we win tomorrow night (big big if but anyway...) I'll be among those celebrating KR and his management, but really, we are about where this manager would expect to be - just outside the play offs with little prospect of being there at the end of the season. On paper we are better tha both Oxford and Doncaster, so I guess that is where the expression 'paper tiger' comes from. Was I surprised when all the comments on saturday went sour in the 93rd minute? No, just exasperated. It keeps F%&/·$&ng happening.
