I'm a cynic so I'm thinking that this race for Native River will be to blow away the cobwebs and for one will not be surprised one bit if he doesn't win.
 
quite impressive from Native River in the end, had written him off based on not winning last years weak race but this year not much deeper and after that he probably deserves to be 2nd fav
 
I think what he did last season was very impressive - a Hennessy, a Welsh National and a Denman Chase followed by a gallant 3rd in the Gold Cup. That is some achievement and he is so much fresher this time around

Native River even money favourite. Surprised he is not odds on really...although it is quite a tricky race. Saphir Du Rheu in receipt of 6lbs a threat but doesn't have a great track record unlike Native River. Not convinced cloudy dream will stay and possibly more rain to come. On the basis last year it was a similar race I hope Native River will gallop hard and that should be enough...

Boommmmm!! Without doubt for me he will go close for the gold cup...
 
Got to be impressed by Native River there haunt you... Gold cup has another to be added to the list of potential winner...
 
Be very much ground dependent - softer side of good will be right up Native River's street, but good ground will be a challenge.

North Hill Harvey is overpriced here
 
Impressive from Saint Cavaldos ...... another Chelts contender. Only 5 year old too.

Politilogue next. Hoping that Altior isn't at his peak!

I called that wrong with my cynicism. Only ante post I've had for chelts is Red Jack so think that's wasted. I'm still fancying Disko for GC cup though yet to lay my money down for it.
 
I think Altior wins this on the snaff. Politologue has filled the gap (much as Dodging Bullets did) in this sphere but he was put in his place by my darling Waiting Patiently last season and he ain't a true Grade 1 performer like Altior. Kudos to Nicholls for running him but Altior hands down here.
