Nah get an Alfa Quadrifoglio
Sexy beast of a car.
I know Sweats started this thread but I am also changing my car once Feb is out of the way.
Of my candidates, there seem to be loads of pros and cons to any option.
The 'old man' con has just been thrown in to the mix for the car I'd more or less settled on, the Jaguar XF!
So, anyone got any genuine recommendations as alternatives to the cars I've got in mind, which are;
BMX 5 series.
BMW 3 series touring.
Jaguar XF.
Mercedes C class estate.
Mercedes E class.
Maybe an Audi 6 but probably not.
Currently got a Ford Mondeo estate which I'd also consider as it ticks all the boxes.
Need a big car for passenger purposes and decent boot space, hence the 3 series and C class having to be estate.
Th(o)ughts?
I'm just not a fan of these cars at all I don't like the Merc in Chiefs pic and wouldn't swap my Hyundai for it.
The BMW Tobes mentioned is nicer than the Merc.
It sound like lunch.

Personally, if you need decent space for the kids and their gear etc, I’d defo go for a BMW 5 touring, bags of room, lovely to drive, quick enough (even the 520ds). Get a dealer maintained one with sensible miles, what sort of budget you got like?
You’ll get a nice 5-7 year old 520d touring 50-70k miles for that kind of money mateI don't want to spend more than 12k really.
It is top of the list if I can find one. That or the Jag Sportbrake version of the XF.
I’m considering the c class coupe.
My issue with mercs is they age badly.
Audi make the best Diesel engines.
I was pretty much settled on the a5 or the TT @Tel has put me off this choice now as it’s a hairdressers car. Still like the a5 but think it’s lilely to be too wide as is wider than the jag which barely fit on my drive.
I don't give a **** about cars but I think the TT looks nice.I’m considering the c class coupe.

Merc's don't get the chance to age, the buggers change the models every 3 weeks. Thats very frustrating.
Unless, thats what you meant in the first place![]()

That’s what I mean. Audi’s and beamers with a private plate on are difficult to age.
This almost certainly not the right car thread for this but any suggestions for a small estate which must be an automatic or opinions on auto / engine combos from the major manufacturers from people who have used them.
Budget £20-£25k (upper limit for new) present car Polo .
