I liked Lee Martin yes abit of a luxury player but always entertaining I agree Jewell has f****** uop and so uses martin as a scape goat. They were 4 1 down before he was sent off,Jewell thinks he`s better than he is and he talks like jimmy Tarbuck...big nooooo from me.
I don't understand how a player can be deemed a luxury. For me Martin is in a crop of players who believe themselves to be better than they are but have failed to live up to the hype. He was the marquee loan signing of last summer (which shows how far we've come) and other than a few flashes of skill, did little of note. The petulance is probably more aimed at himself having thrown away his shot at the big time. It stinks of toys being thrown out of the pram by a spoilt little rich kid. But hey, I suppose he gets the last laugh on his undoubtedly overinflated wages.
Regarding Martin's ability... I felt him v Peterborough away was the best individual performance last season. Nonetheless, I'm not in any particular rush to get him back.
Nah, it's not, but it was one of the best individual performances I've seen in League 1. Thought he was virtually unplayable (at this level) that day. Not enough to make him a billy big boots, mind. All the same, Jewell's comments are hilarious.
