I said at the beginning of the window that Pellegrino needs to be backed or needs to be gotten rid of. If we don't get Promes in and we lose tonight, he has to go. Promes not his fault obviously but he's not getting enough from the current squad as we all know.
If we sell Redmond to Burnley for less than they are looking to spend on Hanni, then Spartak can sign Hanni (which if he's already had his medical should be able to be wrapped up quickly) and then we can buy Promes...simple right!? If they want the whole fee upfront which has also been rumoured, at this point surely you offer most upfront and see if they accept that. If not, given our position, just pay it all upfront and get the player.
We are becoming a bloody embarrassment where transfers etc are involved. What do LR and RW actually do. Put out rumours for 30 days only to let the fans down again on the 31st day. Every body even Pellegrino has known we lack pace, but yet again another transfer window will slide by with no real improvement. In any other business LR and RW would have serious questions to answer, unless of course they are doing what they’re told? Spend no money. Penny pinching on players and managers have resulted in bottom 2 if ye premier league. Every other club had managed to strengthen or have positive management changes, whilst we will reel out the same old **** tonight about hard to do business in the January window. Good bye premier league, hello championship football.
That really makes no sense. If we fail to sign Promes, in what way is Pellegrino to blame? I gave up on him weeks ago, but why sack him when the window has shut, and a new manager has no input on purchases until the summer? The team is behind Pellegrino, as recent results have shown.
From what i understand we've done that, theyve agreed if they can find a replacement but refuse to sell if they can't.
It's a squad with a number of good players, but the sum of those parts doesn't make a good, functional team. We're too predictable in attack, and we're incredibly weak in defence. We've not been the worst PL side over the last 12 months because of Puel/Pellegrino, rather the squads they've been left to work with.
Yeah this is the thing for me. Stick with Pellegrino we HAD to back him, we have bought one player which he clearly had a big say in, but if that is the only player then it is not backing him sufficiently. He will have to go if we don't take 4 points from the next 2 games as we need someone who can work with the current squad.
It isnt over yet, we know funny things can happen when this sort of money is concerned. But *if* we dont bring in a wide player, promes or another, we really are an absolute joke of a football club
basically this. My biggest hope for Pellegrino is that we managed to find a good player with pace that he was clearly desperate for after inclusion of players like Long, Sims and Obafemi. But if the board fail to do that then we don't have the surplus to just keep him out of sympathy. we need to get somebody in who is good at managing slow tricky wingers who like to cross of which we have in abundance. I will wait and see if there's an improvement with Carrillo included though.
For me, Don’t get Quincy - Very annoying. Don’t get Plan B/C/D - unforgivable. No disrespect to Guido either.
Pellegrino said that the club had other options if the Promes deal didn't go through. Now either we are moving on to other targets, or we are still working behind the scenes to get it done. I live in hope...
Even if he wouldn't have been able to play today, if we had signed Promes before the match tonight that would give the crowd a real buzz and some enthusiasm. If this is another let down, we don't want the atmosphere to be affected, because this game is massive regardless.
Because if we had managed to get a winger in an as well he would have been backed properly. We still have a manager that isn't getting enough from the players, and a new signing in an important position would have helped galvanize fans and the team alike.
Pretty poor window IF no more players come in.and once again a manager not backed in the transfer market
