Anyone reckon we should try and bid for Mahrez? I’d take him right now but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t end up going to city, and I truly don’t think we’ll buy anyone else this window
For a PL proven player? He has quite good stats and if he can be taught to close down and put a shift in then I think he’d do a good job for us. The new Coutinho maybe
I can see why Mahrez would want to go to City; bumper pay, nailed on league title, maybe the odd small trophy (no CL though), but he's not going to get anywhere near as much game time. I'd take him right now if offered
It does seem like a panic buy for City purely to replace Sane for 6 weeks. Might be harsh on him and they may may have wanted him all season but seems odd timing.
must be nice to put on an old jacket & find the odd £50m in the inside pocket you had forgotten about.
Didn't want to pay big wages to Sanchez considering the lower buying price, now prepared to pay over the odds and high wages for Mahrez. Something ain't right in that mix.
Sane wasn't injured > Sane was injured. Doesn't say much of Bernardo Silva though, or Foden or any of the other players that thought they might get a look in
This, I don’t get why people are saying Mahrez doesn’t close down and work hard, if I remember correctly he was actually doing exactly this in that Leicester title winning team. Coutinho wasn’t the hardest working player TBHH.
on loan he's a classic.we.got lots if money buy. like when Suarez left and we off bought markovic, Albert, aspas.etc
Same, and to be honest I think most would agree on here that Lemar at 90m is somewhere I don’t want the club to get to. Imo it’d be easier for him to come to the PL at this level and fail, it’s almost a Markovic risk but for 4 times the cost with inflation. No thanks. Mahrez would make perfect sense to me and I’d be happy if we tried to put an offer on the table now that request has gone in.
