Btw they expect Prem teams to get around £130m a year in TV rights after the new deal. They think the UK rights will increase a bit but worldwide rights will increase like crazy. So if we are still in the Prem maybe we can spend more. *coughs*

£130m average including merit payments, facility fees, etc wouldn't be a jump (we made £127.6m last year. and the average wasn't drastically lower). If that £130m is the equally shared funds, though, egads.

This rumour is gathering pace and there is speak of a medical today or tomorrow so I thought this deserves its own thread...£30m price tag would smash our current record of £18.1......

The player is currently in Malaga {warm weather training camp} so getting to Marchwood for his pics(!) is quite do-able. Just the 'tranfer package / terms' to finalise and get the deal 'over the line'....?? Exciting 24 hours or so, don't you think.

Many journalists on Twitter saying that Russian clubs are notoriously hard to deal with regardless of transfer fee.

Russians in general are not known to be soft touches in negotiations, heh. Throw in that Spartak's owner is an oil billionaire who just appeared on the Russian oligarchs list and we're probably not going to successfully nickle and dime them.

I'm not upset that we're 'only' bidding 25m on a player. I said that's how much we would pay for a player in the transfer thread at the start of the window. I'm just annoyed we've left it until 1 day before the window closes to make a bid that would obviously be rejected. I'm hoping that's 25m +add on s because I cant see that bid jumping 5m in a day and I don't think we have the time to do a deal on an alternative unless this was a 'we might as well try' bid and we have almost completed signing the back up.

I will be very annoyed if we don't sign a pacy player this window as i think that is what pellegrino really wants.

With how negotiations work and the time it takes to get into the press, this rejected bid may be from earlier In the week. Im still hopeful that it'll get done. Wonder if we will see a Jeremy Wilson article tonight?
