And if you just say this man’s surname now, in footballing terms, you’ll get a reaction. It’s quite a common surname, though, so I’m hopeful he isn’t related to his modern scumbag namesake.

Yes, it was Harry Barton. Played for Watford 1903-5. He scored seven in a friendly against South West Ham on Saturday, 19th September 1903 and followed that when he scored six the following Saturday, 26th September 1903, in a league match for us against Wycombe Wanderers.
