Robinson punching above his weight IMO. Still needs to cut out the dross, but a trip to Wembley in May might be his redemption.
Although us being Charlton, we would be sure to lose to Scunthorpe with Lee Novak scoring the winner.

I think Robinson has done really well considering the injury problems etc. Polish Striker coming in Monday on loan. Also Kaikai deal is due to be tied up Monday or Tuesday.

I don't blame Robinson for positioning himself with the fans. Roland is a nightmare to work for, and he's stuck to the task, looking for support where he can get it.

Karl Robinson made his bed when he signed his contract. Laying in that bed now with his heart on his sleeve does not make him a hero as far as I'm concerned.
As I've said before, he will have my respect when he has earned it.

That does not mean I want him to fail. Of course I want Charlton to gain promotion, and if KR achieves it against all the difficulties put in front of him (especially by the Regime which is supposed to support him, not undermine him) it will be an incredible achievement.
An achievement worthy of the respect of all.

But so far, he has achieved nothing.
I still don't believe Charlton will gain promotion this season.
Yes, we played well in the second half yesterday. But three wins against mid-table or relegation teams does not mean we are going up.

No promotion = no progress. Another wasted season, a senior squad further weakened once all the loaness return home. Another step towards a long term future as a small Club in the lower leagues.
Right now our remaining fans are lamenting 11 seasons outside the Premier League. If the sad old git who owns us hangs on to his pipe dream of getting his money back much longer, the elders among us will one day be lamenting 11 seasons outside the Championship, while a generation of younger Charlton fans will have been lost, probably along with the empty shell of our home stadium.

Yes we get that. Did he run over your dog? Or shag your Wife? I don't understand all the antipathy towards him.

Robinson’s press conference this week will be interesting.

If Everton are playing brinkmanship and leaving the Konsa deal to the final day of the transfer window , does this not risk us being unable to *buy* a replacement in time <whistle>

No more cheapo loans, don’t forget ...

Who mentioned love? I just happen to think he is doing a decent job under difficult circumstances. I also happen to think that constantly calling him Scouse and gobby is a bit childish.

Fair points, although you’d admit that Robinson doesn’t help himself at times with some of his BS.

Considering the circumstances, there's no way a manager like Curbs would have taken the job on, certainly wouldn't have lasted.

I agree he is too verbose for his own good. But a Manager should be judged on how he is doing on the pitch. We have had an horrendous injury list these past few Months. Duchatelet left him with one centre forward and that is Magennis. Dodoo I don't count as a footballer. With all the upheaval behind the scenes Robinson has tried to steer the team away from that and get them to concentrate on getting wins. Robinson works very long hours and always takes in between two to three matches a week, which involves a lot of travelling. He is first into the Training ground and last out. How facile is it to dislike somebody just because they come from Liverpool?

I think that he could be a bit more flexible in formations. But if Robinson leaves, when the Takeover happens, who would replace him? Would he move the Club on? What Charlton need are new owners and then a period of stability. We have had enough upheaval to last us a lifetime.

Nothing to do with him being from Liverpool ...I’m a massive fan of scousers as a rule.
The long hrs bit goes with the job all managers do exactly what he’s doing not unique taking in 3 matches a week.
    I say he’s gobby ...it’s not childish it’s true.
What goes on off the pitch makes no difference to players as long as they get paid they don’t care...so don’t get the he’s steered the players away from all that .
He’s doing ok at present ...he was awful when he first came results wise and before our recent 3 wins we were dreadful.
I’m just not a fan of his.
If we go up job done if not I’d give him until Christmas next season than review it.
Our team even injury ravaged should be good enough to go up in this tinpot league.
