I'm looking at it slightly differently to most. When these games have come along in the past we get frustrated, slow the pace, run out of ideas and stop playing and it becomes an easy game for the opposition. Last night was more down to a lack of composure at vital moments and some poor finishing. We Managed the game well didn't concede a 2nd and 3rd like we used to do, the defence looked solid enough. We kept playing to the end and almost got our reward.
I'm not happy about the result but I watched a different Liverpool to the one that gets done in these type of games and if we played that game again 100 times we'd win it 90% of the time.

I agree that a creative player may have made the difference but I'm not sure as he wouldnt have had a lot to aim at, Swansea were very good.

I'm less pissed off than usual, we look a good team and VVD has already made a huge difference.
^^ this totally

There are only 3 sides in the Premier League who will as you put it play into your hands, and that's City, Spurs and Arsenal, and you've had mixed results against those sides this season. As you could argue you are playing into their hands too. It was certainly the case when you where thrashed away at Spurs and City.

The other 16, including us under Mourinho are going to make things difficult for you.

No side outside the top 6 is going to go toe to toe with you, and if any manager does then they shouldn't be in a job.

So your going to have to get used to it, as teams in the Premier League know exactly how best to play against you.
And as results and our league position would indicate it clearly isn’t working for all teams because if we have had mixed results against the three teams who play into our hands then we must have picked up points somewhere.
We still on for top four so I am happy
Throw in a cup run and I am a happy bunny THIS season cause next year.....,

If we see out the first half an hour without conceding, then we stand a very good chance of a result. Concede early and it's curtains.

If Harry Kane's not fit, it's curtains no matter what else happens.

how is alderweireld? sanchrs has a bit of learning to do imo.

Lloris looks well dodgy lately.

Alli has been in an out.

kane is the main man... any chance you can Knacker him please.

with our defence Llorente would probably fancy his chances <laugh>

At Anfield we are nowhere near so vulnerable and if we still have the same points gap , or even better have increased it , Klopp will probably be fairly cautious so forcing you to be fairly open.

Toby's finally fit and will play some part against Newport and hopefully, against United. We've missed him no matter how good Jan is. Dele's having difficulties with that tricky 3rd album. I think big agents keep telling him to ditch the band and go solo. However, Levy owns the label he's signed to and nobody's going anywhere until we play our first season in the new stadium.

Sanchez is in only his second season out of Columbia and only his third as a centre back. He was a midfielder. On the right of a 3, with Toby on his left, he's been great. As part of a 2 or alongside Eric Dier, we're nowhere near as strong. He's only 21, which is no age for a centre back and will be a really top defender in a couple of years.

Hugo's a great shot stopper, a bit erratic on crosses and shots at the near post and a fully fledged nightmare with the ball at his feet. He's Mauricio Pochettino's captain and that's that. He's still a top keeper but I'd pick half a dozen above him in world terms. Give me Oblak or De Gea any day.

Harry Kane's a machine and anyone who tells you that I doubted that he'd make it at Spurs when he was 20, is a liar.....<whistle>
