Irrelevant. It's either a mistake or it's not. I'm not judging his overall performance btw just that it was a poor piece of defending that led to the goal that's all.
You can't blame one player, they collectively defended it poorly. Liverpool were surprisingly average last night. They couldn't play with any width and so just ****ed about in the middle getting in each others way. I was interested to see how good Salah was but he just wasn't, the same with Sane. Firmino had nothing to him either. **** all fab about any of them.
I just don't see it as a mistake he does all he can. If you want to look at mistakes why was there 2 Liverpool players barging into him as he heads the ball, no need for them to be there and he will probably make better contact if they concentrate on what is around them instead of challenging for a ball they are never getting to. He almost defending against Liverpool players.
I thought Carvalhal put across his tactics quite well. He said that Liverpool with Salah and Mane were like a Formula one car. So, he told his players that they needed to create a traffic jam, even Formula one cars can’t go anywhere in a traffic jam.
To give Swansea some credit they defended well and in general kept Salah and Mane facing away from goal, Firmino was isolated and had no support or players to find in and around the box. They did a job on us and we didn't have that quality or composure in front of goal. Just have to win the next one and hope other results go our way.
That's why I said couldn't play with width, not didn't play with width. I'm giving Swansea all the credit I can, they were excellent. Disciplined and they just showed Liverpool inside. Olsen and Naughton had very little to do.
It seemed strange that when we got it wide we didn't cross it but played it back in field, this seemed to be a tactic and it didn't work, we should have delivered from wide now and then to see if they could deal with it.
It’s something that we’ve had to try and cope with for some time now. It’s inevitable that others will look at what Swansea did and try to replicate.
Sorry love, i do this to the Spurs board too: A gem from above with Luv People say it's a poor headed clearance if it goes straight up if it drops just on the end of the area. VVD didn't even manage to put it past the penalty spot. Totally his fault. Not only that, it was his panicky sliced clearance that shanked it out for the corner. early day but 75m . Might as well get lukaku in to defend at that price, at least he'd score some The incredible difference VVD made was to help you to a 1-0 defeat against the swansea titans
Meh, you're not saying anything that changes my opinion here. Everyone wants to jump on the price tag and say he's **** but he's simply not and you can rant and laugh all you want it wont change that fact.
^^^^^ rattled. Seriously though, was his serious error that led to the goal (and minor error). Also very disappointed with his passing.
They didn't park anything, they used perfectly valid tactics that worked beautifully. Ayew had more than one chance to double the lead second half, they didn't just defend.
I'm calling rattled on myself, y'bunch of ****s! @BobbyD you're talking out yer arse VVD is a ****ing God and you all dream of him playing for your club.
