I'm not sure why Declan MacManus was asked, but I enjoyed Whoopi Goldberg's perspective. Howard Goodall was compulsory I suppose. I was already a massive Beatles fan, but I too was impressed by just how tight they were and what good musicians. Beatles For Sale was the first album I owned.

I think Elvis was asked because he’s from Liverpool and has worked with Paul McCartney.

When I was about 7 my parents (musical tastes opera and Sinatra) had a party and some guests left some records - including Sgt Peppers and a Stones album. Immediately preferred the Beatles, and played Peppers all day. Took me about 14 years to really appreciate them after that, when I started investing in vinyl it was Bowie who kicked it off. But the Beatles were definitely my introduction to music. Apparently as a 3 year old I would emerge from behind the sofa singing Please Please Me when they were on telly. That’s when they realised I would never have a career in music, indeed they would be providing a public service by never letting me sing again.

I was brought up to hate the Beatles

I thought the Rutles were a lot better

My parents were Stones fans and warned me as a boy never ever go with the flow

Over the years I have come to like a few Beatles records but not many.

Fire and Fury Inside the Trump Whitehouse - it’s actually an interesting read. Seems credible to me but who knows?

I watched the Beatles last night, I do wish Ron Howard would **** off with the American flag shoved right up his arse and take tit ****s with him. What do you mean I cannot be a critic for the Beeb.

Anyone watching "Hard Sun" on BBC? Full series available on iPlayer.

Not the greatest programme written, but enjoyable all the same - and most of it is based on "our manor" with lots of scenes on Shepherds Bush Green, Shepherds Bush Market, Uxbridge Road, and in the estates around the area - not seen HQ yet though!

I saw the last five minutes of the first episode which featured a beardy bloke in a suit being beaten up by what looked like a teenage androgynous hoodie. Then it emerged they were both coppers.

SPOILER ALERT. Having read the premise of the series I immediately thought ‘what’s the point?’ as we are all going to die whatever little dramas they play out. If anything like this was actually going to happen I hope they do keep it secret until the day before it happens as I don’t fancy living through 5 years of total anarchy.

    No desire to revisit.

Acting was pretty good all round but the script was poor. 6/10

A wonderful moment in tonight's conclusion when they had someone reminiscing about the 1981 riots. He spoke about the smell of burnt rubber the next morning and then talked about the fact that there was a dairy across the way and how milk-floats had been appropriated by the rioters. Cue footage of abandoned milk-floats in the street as the voiceover said 'yeah, they drove them at the police'. Pure Python.

I think we're on the verge - Mrs Stroller is getting broody for one. Problem is, we all like big dogs but they are so short-lived. Something medium-sized probably, a Labrador maybe. I'm all for going to Battersea or somewhere similar and finding a mongrel of some kind, but that's not proving popular.

The House series was really good. You should check out his Black Britain series, if you can find it, which is even better.

Had half a bottle of Chianti (Mellini Riserva 2013) this evening. Haven’t really drunk Chianti for a long time, out of snobbery I think, it was too popular with the wrong type of person some time ago. It was delicious.

Don’t think I’ll ever achieve the same with Chardonnay though.

Did you know that that the straw basket that Chianti bottles used to be served in was called a 'fiasco'? There's a joke there that I will leave to Uber.
