well they have new owners and warnock will be looking for a few marquee signings to get the ball rolling. seems highly plausible to me that he could go. i won't be having a go at him for it. all those saying its just for money need to get a grip he aint gonna get anymore than he's on now, just a contract he could walk out against fulham and get his leg smashed up and not be able to win a new contract anywhere once his newcastle one expires. its called job security. although he'll bea rich man a footballers career is a short one and he has to do whats best for the long term.

ffs i turn on the pc to read this...it best be bullshit because ive really hade it with ma is he genuinly ******ed ??? and if barton really was loyal wtf is he doing going to a **** doomed club???

Mate, do you really think he has been all that special in the last two games? I'm a big fan of Joeys but I think that in the last two games it was clear that all was not right.

No I agree that he wasn't fantastic in the first two games but you can't deny that he's influencial in almost all parts of our game...Its also the little things like revving up the crowd and responding to 'one joey barton' chants...He clearly loves the club as if not he would have gone already. What sums it up for me is one of the latest tweets:

spoken to Barton, says he's talking to QPR as #NUFC dont want him so he has to go somewhere. He's on train with SSN's David Craig @nufcfans

Although I do recognise the fact that he does not HAVE to leave, would you really stay in his position? Knowing your not wanted at a club and knowing that the situation between you and your boss can never be revived must be a huge factor in his decision. I don't blame him at all...

Aww I notice a couple of people are saying "he's been off-colour" against Arsenal and the mackems and trying to make out it won't be a bad thing if he goes, but I think that this is just people kidding themselves. Tiote has been off-colour aswell, but if we sold him tomorrow would you use this as an excuse for why he's being sold? Of course not! He's a top player, and his influence in the dressing room, while it may not always be singing to the tune Pardew wants, will be huge.

If we lose Barton, I expect that Colo will leave aswell, and then we realy will be up **** creek without a paddle. I will be hugely disappointed in Barton aswell mind, he's done nowt but bleat on on Twitter that he won't leave unless it's for a bigger club and if he goes to QPR he will go down along with Carroll and Nolan as just another mercenary in my book. You don't have to sign the contract if you don't want to, so if he loved us as much as he says he could just dig his heels in, wait and see if his performances this season persude the Fatman to hand him a contract, or if not take his pick next summer.

If you do go Joey it will show a complete #lackofambition, as you might put it

Actually the people who said he was crap against Arsenal all said they don't want him to go because he is great.

If he wasn't wanted why was he being picked? He is just trying to get fans on side.

I still don't see why NUFC are letting him go for free when they can easily get a modest fee for him.....!!!!

Where is the sense in that?? To teach him a lesson..?? He's probably glad Ashley doesn't get any money from him leaving.

Senseless.

Seems #nufc preparing for life without @Joey7Barton in contact with Spurs about Jenas & Kranjčar #nufc

But HE put himself in this position, saying prepared to stay in the NE and take a pay cut, but kept slagging off the club. This is why the contract was withdrawn.
It's no wonder they want rid of him.
His tweeting hasn't helped either and even tweeted about how to set up a Blog FFS

This is why none of the big clubs have come in for him, great player bit of a loose cannon.

Can understand him leaving but people can't say he is blameless for the situation
